Principal Solutions Architect

N-iX is looking for a Principal Software Architect to join a small team building a new ERP product for public-sector customers in the US. The team uses AI coding agents for a large part of the development work. You'll own the product's architecture, help set up how the team builds with AI, and stay close to the engineering work.

This role is ideal for an architect who uses AI coding agents every day and has designed SaaS products with complex business logic. ERP or finance experience is a plus but not required, as domain experts are part of the team.

Key Responsibilities

Own the architecture of a new multi-tenant SaaS product, from the first design to production.

Work with product managers and domain experts to turn business rules into a clear domain model.

Make the key technical decisions and document them so the team and the client understand the reasons.

Drive prototypes and reference implementations to test ideas early, and review the team's code.

Set up how the team works with AI coding agents: coding standards, testing, and code review.

Design for data accuracy, security, and auditability, which financial software requires.

Plan integrations with the client's existing products and with third-party systems.

Present the architecture and progress to the client's product and technical leaders.

Qualifications

Practical AI proficiency, and this is the part we weigh most. You use AI coding agents every day in real software work, you know their limits, and you've helped a team use them well.

10+ years in software development, with 3+ years as an architect.

Strong experience with .NET and C#.

Experience designing and running production systems on AWS.

Experience designing SaaS or enterprise products: distributed systems, multi-tenancy, APIs, and event-driven design.

Experience with systems where data must always be correct, such as financial, billing, payment, or other calculation-heavy systems.

Able to learn a new business domain quickly and work closely with domain experts.

Clear communication, written and spoken. You can explain technical decisions to non-technical people.

English: Advanced.

Nice to Have

Readiness to write code yourself when needed, such as prototypes or reference implementations.

Experience with ERP or accounting systems.

Products for government or other regulated customers.
