Principal Field Operations Engineer - Federal
About the Role:
This role interfaces with the client directly and is responsible for planning, scoping, and implementing the Dragos Platform in customer environments. Be part of a hands-on and onsite team at power plants, substations, manufacturing floors, and refineries (to name a few), while performing installations and assisting our customer partners in monitoring and safeguarding their infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Act as a trusted advisor and power-user of the Dragos platform, ensuring customers get maximum value for their ICS/OT security operations
Partner with client teams to design network architecture, plan sensor placement and support deployment strategies
Lead deployments both onsite and remotely, ensuring seamless setup and integration
Troubleshoot and resolve issues, providing break/fix support and working closely with engineering teams when escalation is needed
Manage upgrades, patches and configuration changes to keep systems running at peak performance
Collaborate with Dragos Intelligence and Services teams on investigations and special projects
Create clear, concise technical documentation to support customers and internal teams
Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in industrial engineering (e.g., controls engineer) or InfoSec (ideally with ICS/OT cybersecurity exposure)
Must have an active Secret security clearance (or higher).
Deep knowledge of networking: IP networks, OSI model, Purdue mode and ICS protocols
Strong Linux skills (command line), with experience in CENTOS, scripting (e.g., Python, Shell) and SIEMs
Experience with both on-premise and cloud-based enterprise solutions
Familiarity with Elasticsearch
Excitement for tackling complex technical problems (sometimes while wearing a hard hat in the field)
Willingness to travel up to 30%
