Partnerships Expert (Financing) - Mexico City (Hybrid)
What you'll do
We’re looking for a Partnerships Expert to build Clara’s financing partnerships motion in Mexico. This is a role for someone who has already built a partner program inside a BNPL or embedded-finance company — recruiting merchants, platforms, and originators, writing the commercial offer, and making the channel produce volume. You will translate that craft to Clara: partnerships that put flexible financing, funded spend, and working-capital products in front of the companies that already trust another platform. You own the results of this motion end-to-end.
In this role, you will:
Build the financing channel: Map and recruit the partner types that can originate or distribute Clara financing: platforms, vertical software, lenders, and commercial networks where a company already makes a spend or credit decision.
Own the commercial design: Structure offers that work for both sides — origination economics, co-brand or co-sell, data and underwriting handoff, and a clean split that does not give away Clara’s book.
Be strategically hands-on: Personally source, negotiate, and launch the first partners. This is not a vendor-management seat. You will be in the room until the motion is repeatable.
Connect product to distribution: Work with Product, Credit, Capital Markets, Legal, and Compliance so a partner can originate without breaking underwriting, KYB, or funding covenants.
Navigate internally: Be the single counterpart for partners and the translator for Sales and Success so financed volume is attributed, serviced, and expanded.
Operational excellence: Run onboarding, SLAs, portfolio health, QBRs, and a kill-or-scale cadence. Financing partners that do not produce quality volume exit the program.
Drive growth: Monitor originated volume, approval rates, ticket size, delinquency contribution, and partner-sourced revenue in HubSpot and Metabase. Pivot the mix when the book tells you to.
Workflow efficiency: Use Google Drive, Slack, and N8N to keep partner communication, document collection, and status flows tight as the portfolio grows.
Must have
Experience: Minimum 5 years in Partnerships, Business Development, or Channel inside BNPL, consumer/SMB lending, embedded finance, or a related credit product in Mexico.
Channel craft: You have built or scaled a partner/merchant/originator program — not only managed a handful of strategic logos. You know how to recruit, enable, and pay a network that produces volume.
Credit fluency: Enough command of underwriting, risk appetite, and unit economics to negotiate with partners without promising what Credit will not book.
Execution: Player-coach. Strategy plus direct negotiation and launch.
Performance driven: Proven volume, merchant, or originator growth through an indirect channel.
In-person collaboration: Based in Mexico City, hybrid, with regular office time and partner visits.
Tech-savvy: Experience or strong interest in AI tools to automate partner operations.
Nice to have
Analytical skills: Metabase, spreadsheets, SQL, or Python — especially cohort, approval, and loss views.
Relationships across Mexican fintech, acquirers, or commercial platforms.
Experience with corporate cards, expense management, or working-capital products.
Automation: N8N or Slack integrations.
A good sense of humor.
