About the Client

The leading provider of vehicle lifecycle solutions, with headquarters in Chicago, enables the companies that build, insure, and replace vehicles to power the next generation of transportation. Its platform delivers advanced mobile, artificial intelligence, and car technologies. It connects a network of 350+ insurance companies, 24,000+ repair facilities, hundreds of parts suppliers, and dozens of third-party data and service providers. The customer's collective solutions enhance productivity and help clients deliver better experiences for end consumers.

What You’ll Do

Design, deploy, and maintain AWS serverless infrastructure including Lambda, API Gateway, ECS, CloudFront, S3, and load balancers

Write and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, Terragrunt, and CloudFormation across multiple environments

Build and manage CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions — from container builds to multi-stage deployments

Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline failures, deployment issues, and release blockers across environments

Create and maintain Docker images and Python packages with a focus on security, reproducibility, and minimal footprint

Own WAF rules, security group policies, and IAM posture across AWS accounts

Instrument and monitor production workloads using Datadog — dashboards, APM, log pipelines, and alerting

Troubleshoot and diagnose infrastructure, deployment, and application issues across the full stack — from misconfigured IAM policies to Lambda cold starts to network routing problems

Proactively identify risks, misconfigurations, and performance bottlenecks before they become incidents

Partner with engineering teams to improve deployment workflows, observability, and incident response

Occasionally support Azure workloads and cross-cloud integration

What You Bring

Proven experience in DevOps/Platform/Cloud engineering

Deep, production-hardened AWS experience: Lambda, ECS, CloudFront, S3, API Gateway, ALB/NLB, WAF

Terraform and Terragrunt: you've managed real multi-account, multi-environment state

CloudFormation: reading, writing, and debugging stacks and nested templates

GitHub Actions: building workflows from scratch, not just editing existing ones; diagnosing failed runs and flaky steps

Proficiency in Python and Node.js at the scripting/tooling level

Jinja templating: config generation, dynamic template rendering in Python tooling or pipelines

Docker: building optimized images, publishing packages, writing multi-stage Dockerfiles

Security mindset: IAM least-privilege, WAF configuration, secrets management (SSM/Secrets Manager)

Nice to have

Datadog: APM, log management, custom monitors, dashboards, and infrastructure alerting

MongoDB Atlas: cluster management, network peering, backup policies, or Atlas CLI/Terraform provider

Azure familiarity (networking, compute, or identity)

Experience with serverless frameworks (AWS SAM, Serverless Framework, or CDK)

Cost optimization experience in AWS
