About the Team and Role

China and Japan aren't emerging markets in the way the label suggests - they're sophisticated, mature ecosystems that simply don't run on the same playbook as the rest of APAC. Different platforms, different buying cultures, different definitions of trust. We're looking for a Marketing Manager who understands that going deep in these markets is a different job entirely from running broad regional campaigns, and who's genuinely excited by that depth rather than looking to generalise it away.

You'll own integrated marketing execution across the full funnel - SMB through enterprise - for China and Japan, working closely with our Head of Marketing Asia, to build and adapt campaign strategy for markets that each deserve their own thinking - not a translated version of what works elsewhere. You'll collaborate with Demand Generation, Brand & Content, Creative Services, Field, BDR, Sales and Partnerships to make sure campaigns are built for how buyers in these markets actually discover, evaluate, and decide, so that they move the pipeline as a result.

This is an individual contributor role. You won't have direct reports, but you'll need the judgement and stakeholder skills of someone who could.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

How You'll Make a Difference

Plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns across China and Japan, spanning paid, organic, lifecycle, field, ABM and partner marketing

Build and adapt campaign strategy for local relevance - platform choices (e.g. WeChat, Baidu, LINE), buyer behaviour, content format, and competitive context differ significantly between China and Japan, and campaigns need to reflect that rather than flatten it

Partner with BDR, Sales, field, partnerships and shared services teams to align campaign timing and messaging with market-specific pipeline goals and account priorities

Work with Brand & Content and Product Marketing to identify where existing assets translate well and where new, market-native content and localisation is needed

Develop and execute co-marketing programs with local partners - campaigns, in-market events, and webinars - that drive demand and pipeline while showcasing our joint value proposition in China and Japan

Activate partner-led marketing initiatives with the right tools, content, and guidance, and champion the partner voice internally so collaboration keeps deepening

Manage campaign calendars, budgets, and vendor relationships specific to China and Japan, including local media and platform partners

Track and report campaign performance by market and channel, with a clear point of view on what's working, what isn't, and why

Build and maintain a market-level measurement view in partnership with Marketing Analytics, so decisions are grounded in data rather than assumption

Bring forward recommendations on where investment should shift across China and Japan based on results

Establish success criteria that inform resource planning, campaign flighting, and prioritisation across multiple stakeholders

Represent the needs and constraints of these markets in global and regional campaign planning, so strategy isn't built only from a US, EMEA, or broader APAC lens

Stay informed on market trends and competitive dynamics in China and Japan, bringing fresh thinking to how we and our partners show up

Other related duties as assigned

Who You Are

5+ years in partner marketing, demand generation, or regional marketing, ideally with direct experience in China and/or Japan

Comfortable owning campaigns end-to-end, from planning through execution to reporting, without a large supporting team

Comfortable self-serving in a lean-resource environment - from copywriting, basic design, case study interviews, to event execution - are part of the job here, not someone else's

Experience managing media budgets across multiple markets, with a clear read on where spend is and isn't working

Working knowledge of the platforms and channels specific to China and Japan (e.g. WeChat, Rednote, LINE, X, local social and search ecosystems)

Able to read data and turn it into a recommendation, not just a report. Familiarity with Tableau and Salesforce (or equivalent) preferred

Ability to report performance against OKRs/KPIs to executive leadership, translating market-level detail into a regional story

Strong collaborator who can align global and local priorities without treating either as the default answer

Organised enough to manage multiple stakeholders and timelines across two distinct markets, and pragmatic about where to flex process versus where to hold the line

Familiarity with the partner ecosystem in China and/or Japan - agencies, technology, and channel partners is a strong plus

Knowledge of local publisher media landscapes in China and/or Japan

Genuinely curious about what makes buyers different in China and Japan, and willing to say so when a global or regional template doesn't fit

Comfortable working async across timezones with a globally distributed marketing team

Mandarin and/or Japanese language business proficiency ideal, given the depth of market and cultural nuance this role requires
