Operations Manager, Life New Business

Position is located in Montpelier, Vermont, or Addison, Texas, with a relocation package offered.

We are seeking a dynamic, experienced and passionate leader to join our Life New Business leadership team. This leadership position is responsible for leading and developing Case Managers while driving strong operational performance and delivering exceptional service for our customers and distribution partners.

The Manager, New Business oversees production across multiple sites, ensuring efficient, compliant, and high-quality service delivery. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with strong operational expertise, financial acumen, comfortable navigating complexity, using data to make informed decisions, coaching skills, and a passion for continuous improvement and exceptional customer service.

This position currently offers an onsite work schedule, with the expectation that you will be in the office four (4) days per week during onsite core days.  Our current onsite core days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  The work schedule type and core days are subject to change with advance notification and manager discretion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and develop Case Managers across multiplelocations.

Develop and implement team goals aligned with departmental and organizational objectives.

Develop a deep understanding of how the business works and flows through the NLG ecosystem.

Provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities with a forward focused approach – building for the long-term success of the team and Company

Foster a culture aligned with National Life values.

Oversee production activities while maintaining high-quality customer service, quality, and compliance standards.

Optimize workflows and implement process improvements.

Monitor productivity and quality through audits and reporting.

Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve complex issues.

Provide production updates and strategic insights to leadership.

Respond to escalated customer and agent inquiries.

All other duties as assigned.

Provide timely coaching, feedback and development opportunities

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, or related field.

Minimum 3 years of leadership experience.

3+ years of experience in Life, Operations, Financial Services, or related fields.

Strong leadership, change management, financial acumen, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to drive continuous improvement.

Ability to pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience leading multi-site operations.

Experience implementing operational improvements.

Advanced knowledge of  life new business operations.

Experience using operational data, performance metrics, and business insights to identify trends and drive improvements

Base Pay Range.  The base pay range for this position is the range National Life reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors, including: prior experience and job-related knowledge; education, training and certificates; current business needs; and market factors.  The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances.

Additional Compensation and Benefits. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in National Life’s discretionary annual incentive programs, subject to the rules governing such programs. If hired, the employee will be in an "at-will position" and National Life reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

$67,500—$99,000 USD
