Logistics Manager
About the Role:
As a Logistics Manager at Planet, you will be a critical member of our Ground Stations Operations Team, playing a central role in the delivery and operational excellence of our geographically diverse Ground Station network. You will own the end-to-end supply chain logistics, ensuring the seamless movement of essential equipment to support our satellite constellation. You will partner closely with internal teams, including IT, ITC, and mission control, to optimize our network performance and drive operational readiness. Ideal candidates bring a background in supply chain management and a drive for continuous improvement.
This is a full-time, in-office position based in our San Francisco office 5 days per week.
Impact You'll Own:
Source, negotiate, and manage procurement processes, including quoting, purchasing, tracking, and receiving ground station materials and specialized equipment.
Coordinate end-to-end global supply chain logistics and equipment delivery across remote ground station facilities.
Partner with International Trade Compliance (ITC) teams to secure necessary export/import licenses and maintain compliance with global trade regulations.
Liaise with international freight forwarders and customs brokers to facilitate seamless material shipping and delivery worldwide.
Lead contract negotiations with vendors, suppliers, and logistics partners to optimize costs and service terms.
Create and maintain databases of Commercial Invoices, ECCN and HST information for export controlled materials.
Track, reconcile, and audit spare parts inventory levels across ground station sites, producing regular reports to maintain operational readiness.
What You Bring:
4+ years of relevant supply chain or logistics experience
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
Basic programming - scripting and data analysis
Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
Ability to work with little or no supervision
Experience with task prioritization and organizational management
What Makes You Stand Out:
Lean Six Sigma Experience
ASCM CPIM, CSCP or CLTD certification not required but beneficial
Experience with Bash, Python or other scripting or object-oriented languages
Experience with Linux or UNIX servers, IP Networks or previous Aerospace experience

Compensation:
The US base salary range for this full-time position at the commencement of employment is listed below. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives (bonus and equity). The final salary range is determined by job related experience, skills and location. The range displays our typical hiring range for new hire salaries in US locations only.
