Lead Business Systems Engineer
About the Role:
In Revenue Operations, our mission is to give the go-to-market organization systems it can trust — fast to use, accurate by default, and built to scale ahead of the business. The Business Systems team owns the platforms that carry a deal from first touch to booked order.
We’re looking for a Lead Business Systems Engineer to build in that lead-to-order stack: marketing automation, sales engagement, CRM, quoting and deal management, contracting and e-signature, and the handoff into ERP and billing. You won’t own the target architecture — you’ll know it cold and build inside it. That means designing and shipping complex applications and solutions on Salesforce and connected platforms, standing up integrations that hold under load, and taking on the technical debt that slows everyone else down. This is a hands-on role: your week ends with something in production, not a diagram.
Responsibilities:
Know our lead-to-order architecture better than anyone — data models, integration patterns, automation, and security model — and build within it rather than around it
Design and build complex applications and solutions on Salesforce and connected platforms — declarative automation, Apex and Lightning components where warranted, and supporting data models
Take on our most critical technical debt: untangle brittle automation, consolidate redundant objects and fields, and replace workarounds with designs the next engineer can maintain
Serve as technical lead on the build for cross-functional systems projects — requirements, testing, and cutover — including platform migrations and new tool rollouts
Build and maintain the integrations and APIs that move data between marketing, sales, contracting, and finance systems — and keep them observable, tested, and documented
Build to our governance and security standards: environment strategy, release management, and logical data segmentation (role-based access, field-level security, routing) for regulated and federal business
Partner with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Customer Experience, and IT Security to turn process requirements into working solutions — and flag when a request solves today’s problem at tomorrow’s expense
Build with AI capabilities inside GTM workflows — agents, CRM-connected assistants, and automation — with the validation discipline to make their outputs decision-ready
Act as a senior technical resource for the Business Systems team — hands-on troubleshooting, code and config review, and raising the bar on documentation and change management
Qualifications:
8+ years building business systems or GTM platforms, with deep hands-on work in a lead-to-order or quote-to-cash stack
Deep Salesforce build expertise — Sales Cloud required; Apex, Lightning components, CPQ, and Platform Developer certifications a plus
Hands-on development as your primary skill: declarative automation, Apex or equivalent, REST/SOAP APIs, and integration platforms or middleware
Working fluency across the adjacent stack: marketing automation, sales engagement, CLM/e-signature, and ERP integration patterns
A track record of shipping complex solutions and remediating serious technical debt in a live production org
Security-minded build habits: role-based access, field-level security, and data segmentation for regulated environments; federal or public-sector exposure a plus
Communication range — you can explain a design tradeoff to an executive and a validation rule to an admin, and translate between the two
Ownership instincts: you treat the platform like it’s yours, hold a high bar, and move without waiting for permission structures to catch up
Genuine curiosity about AI — you’ve built with AI tools, you have opinions about where they belong in a GTM stack, and you want to work somewhere deploying them for real
Cybersecurity or OT/industrial industry experience a plus
