Insurance Operations Consultant

We are looking for an Insurance Operations Consultant with solid operational experience in insurance, who will optimize existing processes and prepare the operations team for new types of services. The role combines technical insurance expertise with process analysis skills, operational strategy, and training, with the goal of bringing operations to maximum functioning capacity.

The person will work within eMAG's insurance area, where we currently manage RCA and travel insurance services, with plans to expand into other insurance products. The operations team is essential for delivering services to customers and this role is responsible for providing operational direction, optimizing the current way of working, increasing team productivity, and building operational implementation plans for new services

What you’ll have to do:

Operational Process Optimization

Analyze existing operational workflows (policy issuance, renewal, reporting) and identify bottlenecks, redundancies, and opportunities for efficiency;

Propose and implement process improvements, measurable through clear KPIs (processing time, error rate, volumes);

Collaborate with IT/product teams to automate repetitive steps;

Continuously monitor process performance and adjust based on results.

Operational Implementation for New Services

Evaluate the operational impact of new products/services before launch and create detailed operational implementation plans;

Define operational workflows for new products (CASCO, home insurance, etc.) prior to launch;

Build training plans and support materials for the operations team;

Facilitate training and onboarding sessions on new workflows;

Monitor team adoption and performance post-implementation, adjusting processes as needed.

Operational Strategy and Performance

Provide operational direction for the development of the insurance area, backed by data analysis;

Establish and track capacity and productivity indicators for the operations team;

Identify gaps in resources, skills, or processes that limit maximum capacity;

Create operational strategy plans for optimization and scaling;

Report periodically to management on the status of optimization initiatives and their impact.

Let’s meet if you have these skills:

Minimum 3-5 years of operational experience in insurance (issuance, claims, back office, or similar);

Solid knowledge of insurance products and operational workflows (RCA, CASCO, home insurance, travel insurance);

Proven experience in optimization or process analysis projects;

Analytical thinking, working with data (Excel), operational KPIs, and the ability to build plans based on them;

Ability to work cross-functionally (operations, IT, product, development);

Training and facilitation skills for operational teams;

English language – conversational/business level;

Nice to have experience with digital/online insurance platforms;

Nice to have experience launching new insurance products or services;

Knowledge of the Romanian insurance market;
