Role Overview

This is a leadership role spearheading Nebius’s communications across Europe and the Middle East: you will develop strong regional narratives, provide senior counsel, manage and develop the team, and lead consequential communications and stakeholder situations.

Reporting to the global Head of Communications, you will translate business priorities into compelling stories and a practical regional strategy. You will connect local developments to the company narrative and adapt them to the audiences and circumstances of each market.

We need an outstanding storyteller with the gravitas, experience and judgment to personally lead high-stakes situations involving multiple stakeholders. You will know when to shape the narrative, handle a difficult relationship or lead a response yourself, and when to give colleagues the authority and support to deliver.

What success looks like

The region has clear priorities, strong narratives, credible stories and trusted stakeholder relationships. Important situations receive the right senior attention. Colleagues understand their responsibilities, exercise sound judgment and develop under your leadership. Global colleagues have early visibility of consequential regional developments.

Key Responsibilities

Shape regional narratives and strategy

Develop communications strategy and strong narratives for priority European and Middle Eastern markets, linked to business priorities and the wider company story.

Identify compelling stories and the evidence behind them. Make clear choices about audiences, markets and investment; adapt narratives locally while keeping core facts consistent.

Advise senior leaders on positioning, communications opportunities and reputation risks. Define measurable objectives and use evidence to improve the programme.

Lead communications and consequential stakeholder situations

Build trusted relationships with regional business leaders, partners and relevant business, technology, infrastructure and local media. Create a sustained pipeline of credible stories.

Shape and deliver the narratives, writing, executive counsel and stakeholder engagement that need your senior experience. Delegate other work with clear briefs, authority and quality standards.

Lead regional communications for customer, partner, product and infrastructure developments.

Partner with country managers and public affairs colleagues on communications and local engagement around physical infrastructure builds.

Manage people and regional resources

Set team priorities and responsibilities, coach colleagues, manage performance and support their development. Build the capability and confidence to make sound decisions.

Balance workloads and recommend where additional skills or capacity are needed. Recruit and onboard approved hires.

Direct agencies and partners through clear briefs, budgets and performance reviews. Judge what to own personally, what to delegate and when to intervene; retain accountability for quality and outcomes.

Coordinate across the business

Work closely with stakeholders across Nebius – GTM country leads, Marketing, Business Diplomacy, Product, Research, Technology, subject experts and other colleagues – to coordinate on issues including regional priorities, policy, local engagement and reputation management.

Coordinate with US, APAC and global communications leaders on announcements, issues and executive visibility. Maintain early visibility of consequential developments within appropriate confidentiality controls.

Key Qualifications and Experience

What we need

A strong record of senior communications leadership in Europe and the Middle East, with substantial in-house technology-company experience and the ability to operate credibly across the region.

Outstanding storytelling and narrative-development skills: translating complex business and technology priorities into compelling, credible stories for different audiences and markets.

Demonstrated people-management experience: setting goals, coaching, managing performance and developing capable colleagues.

Gravitas and senior experience to personally lead high-stakes, multi-stakeholder situations, advise business leaders and navigate competing interests with sound judgment.

Evidence of judging when personal involvement is essential and when to delegate, alongside strong media relationships and experience directing agencies and regional resources.

Outstanding English writing, editing and spoken communication, with the curiosity and rigor to understand complex technology and build accurate narratives.

Helpful experience

AI, cloud infrastructure, enterprise technology or another complex B2B sector; regional expansion, infrastructure investment or a publicly listed company.

Substantial Middle East communications work, relevant media relationships and additional regional language skills.

Agency experience is valuable alongside substantial in-house experience; an agency-only background does not meet the role’s requirements. Journalism experience can be beneficial.

Competencies and Behavioural Traits

Strong narrative judgment, senior presence, clear prioritisation and calm leadership. A capable people manager who develops others, gives direct feedback and delegates with purpose. Takes personal ownership where the stakes or complexity require senior experience, while keeping regional and global colleagues aligned. Comfortable with ambiguity, iteration, course-correction, experimentation and (occasionally) failure.

What We Offer

A senior communications leadership role shaping narratives and stakeholder relationships across Europe and the Middle East, working closely with business and global communications leaders and developing the regional team.
