Re:Build Manufacturing was founded to ensure that the next generation of important products are made, at-scale, in America. We've assembled a powerful set of complementary capabilities and lines of business that enable us to design and manufacture nearly anything. Our acquired and organically grown businesses employ experts in every major engineering discipline, and we leverage their combined expertise to advance increasingly sophisticated program development and production—as well as the creation of our own products. This unique set of capabilities—integrated into a single company and built upon common processes and culture—lends itself to highly complex systems and products. We offer customers a full range of services, including product and systems design, automation, fabrication, assembly, and large-volume manufacturing. Our customers span a wide array of industries, including aerospace, defense, mobility, healthcare, pharma, biotech, clean tech, chemicals, energy, lifestyle, food production, and industrial equipment.

The way we go about this work is as important as the work itself. We are guided by The Re:Build Way—sixteen principles that shape how we work with each other, our customers, our vendors, and the communities where we operate. See our principles here: The Re:Build Way

Who we are looking for

We seek an experienced, engineering-first digital product development leader capable of driving organizational growth, process discipline, talent and leadership development, and continuous improvement within a complex engineering environment. Central to our model is the ability to facilitate collaboration with other Re:Build engineering and manufacturing companies and to lead the AX senior engineering team who work in distributed settings. Based in Rochester, NY, and reporting to our Chief Operating Officer, you will lead the business as we continue to grow our capabilities, customer mix, and team.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in embedded systems-based product development across a wide range of end-use applications, along with a proven ability to lead large engineering teams, deepen engineering capability, broaden the customer base, and mature operating methods and processes in a rapidly growing business. You bring excellent communication and relationship-building skills to manage both internal collaboration and customer engagements, as well as creative problem-solving skills and the ability to apply best practices—and new technologies—from other businesses and contexts. You bring significant P&L leadership experience, strong business acumen, a continuous improvement mentality, commercial prowess, and excellent coaching and motivational skills. Further, you will have demonstrated a strong understanding of and commitment to applying AI agents to maximize your own personal and your team’s effectiveness.

What you get to do

General management of the AppliedLogix business, including oversight of program management, engineering, sales and marketing, finance, human resources, and all related support functions.

Own the P&L and lead the team to make sound financial decisions and meet the sales, income, and cash-flow targets of the business. Develop budgets, financial plans, capacity planning, and performance metrics, and provide regular updates on progress and critical-path items. Own business-wide KPIs and use them to drive improvement in operating performance and financial margins.

Drive operational performance, including oversight of key operational initiatives and overarching performance across the proposal-to-delivery flow (inclusive of engineering processes and outcomes).

Lead, manage, and develop a high-performing team with a strong, positive operating culture.

Support business development by meeting with customers and participating in selling activities—both AppliedLogix-specific opportunities and opportunities across multiple Re:Build operations. Lead revenue generation in partnership with AX salespeople, program managers, and the RBM commercial teams.

Ensure an elevated level of customer satisfaction through innovative problem-solving and effective communication.

Lead engineering and development process improvements that enable the business to scale and to support customers in their program development.

Collaborate across Re:Build businesses to share resources and expertise in pursuit of internal engineering and product-development programs.

Leverage Lean operating principles and tools to reinforce a culture of engagement, problem-solving, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement.

Leverage AI and other emerging technologies to drive differentiated outcomes in functionality, quality, efficiency, and cost.

Provide leadership and management of Re:Builders to ensure effective selection, development, retention, and performance management of team members.

Develop and implement communication and engagement strategies to keep teams informed, aligned, and motivated to achieve objectives.

Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence aligned with the Principles of The Re:Build Way.

Experience interacting directly with customers to manage expectations and relationships and deliver successful outcomes.

Experience working across functional teams (finance, engineering, sales, production, quality, etc.) to achieve common goals.

Demonstrated ability to thrive in a highly collaborative environment—building relationships and leveraging shared resources and capabilities to move the business forward.

Track record as a transformational leader who shapes strategy and leverages technology, continuous improvement, and targeted investments to drive growth.
