PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Forward Logistics Coordinator is responsible for providing logistical support to internal and external partners. Duties include coordinating the delivery to and return of material from engineers across North America, maintaining parts and equipment records, updating databases, data entry, and weekly reporting.
We currently have 1 opening for this role, remote within the United States.
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Communicates professionally and effectively by phone and email with SMA engineers and customers on spare parts needs, deliveries, and return of material.
Tracks shipments in transit, provides proactive updates, and responds quickly to delays or exceptions.
Works cross functionally with purchasing and transportation, third-party logistics partners, the regional competency center, and field service staff.
Coordinates with warehouse teams to ensure orders are picked, packed, staged, and ready for shipment on time.
Archives and maintains the field service database, including customer data, service reports, and photographs.
Handles shipment discrepancies, damages, lost freight, and delivery problems, coordinating with carriers and customers to resolve them.
Prepares data for weekly reports, including tracking inverter repairs and inventory consumption.
Assists with cycle counting and annual inventory processes.
Other duties as may be required or assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
A high school diploma or equivalent education is required. An associate degree is preferred.
At least 3 years of experience in an administrative or support role.
Ability to work an 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Pacific schedule on a consistent basis.
Prior experience in a supply chain, logistics, or warehouse environment is strongly preferred.
OTHER SPECIALIZED SKILLS
Knowledge of supply chain functions, including procurement, warehousing, and transportation.
Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
Attention to detail and an elevated level of accuracy.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to analyze and solve problems effectively.
Dependable attendance and consistent follow through, as field engineers rely on timely parts movement to complete service work.
Extent of responsibility: Regional.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and see, and to use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone. The employee is occasionally required to reach above the shoulder, stoop, bend, squat, and kneel, and may lift up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Compensation: $25.00 to $29.50 per hour, dependent on experience and qualifications.
