Financial Controller (Fixed Term Contract, Ireland, Remote)

This is an 18 month Fixed Term Contract full time remote opportunity for those based in Ireland.

As part of our Finance function, you will maintain complete financial integrity while enabling sustainable, global business growth.

Whether you are a Financial Controller, Senior Accountant, or Payroll Specialist, you will oversee multi-currency consolidations, ensure global tax and statutory compliance, and manage our end-to-end accounting operations across multiple international entities. Collaborating closely with leadership and cross-functional teams, you will combine accounting precision with commercial acumen to streamline financial governance, optimise project profitability, and provide the trusted financial foundation that powers our scaling enterprise.

About the Financial Controller Role:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Financial Controller to join our finance team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial control environment, accounting operations, revenue cycle management, treasury, legal entity accounting, financial reporting, month-end close activities, tax filings and annual financial audit within a fast-paced and growing international organization.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting and controllership expertise, operational rigour, and proven experience managing and improving finance processes in a multinational environment. They will be comfortable operating at both a strategic and tactical level, taking ownership of the accuracy and integrity of the financials while partnering closely with stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Control & Reporting

Own the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger and financial records for the Irish entity and relevant international entities

Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion

Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and other accounting adjustments

Prepare and review monthly management accounts and financial reporting packages

Provide insightful analysis of financial performance, including key variances, trends, and areas requiring management attention

Ensure financial reporting is prepared in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies

Establish and maintain a robust financial control environment, including appropriate review processes and segregation of duties

Revenue Cycle Management

Oversee the end-to-end revenue cycle, including invoicing, revenue accounting, reconciliations, collections support, and issue resolution

Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies

Partner with Sales, Operations, Customer, and other business teams to resolve billing and revenue-related issues

Monitor revenue processes and controls and identify opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability

Review key revenue reconciliations and reporting on a regular basis

Cash Management & Treasury

Own and maintain rolling cash flow forecasts and provide visibility into short- and medium-term cash requirements

Monitor daily cash positions across relevant entities and bank accounts

Oversee bank reconciliations and payment processes

Support treasury activities, including foreign exchange and multi-currency management

Manage relationships with banking partners and ensure appropriate controls over cash and payments

Provide management with regular reporting and insight into liquidity and cash flow

Legal Entity & Subsidiary Accounting

Oversee accounting and financial administration for Irish and international legal entities and subsidiaries

Manage intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and settlement processes

Ensure statutory accounts and other regulatory reporting requirements are completed accurately and on time

Coordinate statutory audits and act as a key point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and other external service providers

Support Irish VAT, tax, and other local compliance requirements

Ensure appropriate accounting policies and controls are consistently applied across entities

Financial Controls, Compliance & Audit

Develop, implement, and maintain effective financial controls and accounting policies

Identify control weaknesses and implement appropriate remediation plans

Coordinate internal and external audit activities and ensure timely resolution of audit findings

Support compliance with applicable IFRS, US GAAP, local statutory requirements, and company accounting policies, as relevant

Maintain appropriate financial documentation, reconciliations, and audit trails

Continuously assess finance processes for risk, control effectiveness, and scalability

Finance Operations & Process Improvement

Lead initiatives to improve the efficiency, scalability, and automation of finance processes

Identify opportunities to streamline accounting, reporting, billing, and reconciliation activities

Drive standardization of processes across entities and teams

Develop and maintain appropriate finance policies, procedures, and documentation

Partner with cross-functional teams to improve financial data quality and operational processes

Systems & Data

Act as a key finance owner and subject matter expert for the ERP and accounting systems

Oversee the integrity of financial data and reporting outputs

Drive finance systems optimisation, automation, and reporting enhancements

Support system implementations, integrations, and process improvements as required

Develop and maintain reporting and analysis that provides meaningful insight to senior management

Team & Business Partnering

Line management of a small accounting team

Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to accounting and finance team members as applicable

Establish clear priorities, processes, and accountability across finance operations

Partner with senior stakeholders across the business to support informed financial decision-making

Translate financial information into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders

Balance hands-on execution with effective delegation, oversight, and strategic planning

What we are looking for in this person:

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline

ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent accounting qualification required

10+ years of post-qualification experience, ideally including experience in a Financial Controller

Strong technical accounting and financial reporting experience

Proven experience owning or leading month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes

Strong knowledge of:

Financial reporting and management accounts

Financial controls and accounting policies

Revenue accounting and invoicing

Multi-entity and intercompany accounting

Cash flow forecasting and treasury activities

Bank reconciliations and general ledger management

Audit and statutory reporting processes

Experience working in multinational and/or high-growth environments

Strong ERP systems experience; NetSuite experience strongly preferred

Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability

Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills

Highly organized, commercially minded, and able to manage competing priorities

Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve issues independently

Preferred Experience

Experience in technology services, SaaS, or other international/high-growth businesses

Experience managing finance operations across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions

Strong working knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP

Experience with multi-currency accounting and international transactions

Experience with Irish VAT, statutory accounts, and local regulatory compliance

Experience implementing or improving ERP and finance systems

Experience with finance transformation, automation, and process improvement initiatives

Previous experience managing or mentoring accounting/finance team members
