What You'll Do:
The Facilities Maintenance Specialist I performs highly skilled maintenance and handyman tasks to care for and maintain the company hospital and clinic buildings and grounds. This position uses their knowledge of power and manual tools needed to perform tasks in categories such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting and mechanical equipment, etc. to ensure the buildings are in pristine condition.
Performs routine maintenance on a rotational basis to keep equipment and facility running smoothly.
Responds to repair and maintenance tickets submitted by internal departments.
Operates power and manual tools for cutting, fitting, and assembling.
Orders medical supplies and reports on inventory status.
Receives and delivers supplies throughout the facility.
Effectively troubleshoots electrical, mechanical, and process issues in an independent manner.
Coordinates with external suppliers or contractors for outsourced repairs and completes follows-up on problem resolution.
Responsible for the supervision of the food services vendor including performance, delivery timelines, and any quality related concerns.
Reports any Environment of Care concerns via ticketing system for documentation by the Safety Committee.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
This position requires you to be available to service our other facilities within the area including Woodbridge and Chantilly, VA.
What You'll Bring:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
3 years of relevant work experience in the repair and maintenance of a variety of building and mechanical equipment
Working knowledge of: Drywall repair, painting, minor plumbing and electrical repairs, shipping and receiving, and door hardware
The Company has a mandatory vaccination policy. All successful applicants must be fully vaccinated, including showing proper documentation, or otherwise be exempt pursuant to the Company’s exemption process prior to their start date as a condition of employment
State of Virginia Fingerprint Clearance
Must be able to pass Virginia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services (VA DBHDS) background check
Must be able to pass Virginia Department of Social Services (VA DSS) Office of Background Investigations - Central Registry Search
It would be great if you had:
Previous healthcare facility experience
2 years of experience performing tasks requiring mechanical aptitude
Knowledge of the methods, practices, materials, and tools used in the maintenance of doors, and machinery such as meters, and valves
Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions involved in the use of mechanical equipment

Actual compensation is based on relevant experience, education, internal equity, and budget.
Virginia pay range
$29—$33 USD
