We are looking for a motivated and supportive Engineering Team Manager to lead our Foundations & Enablement team — the group that keeps the rest of engineering fast, secure, and consistent. Your team's customers are other engineering teams: you'll own the standards, tooling, and shared systems (CI/CD, security practices, developer experience, core platform capabilities) that every other team builds on. You will own your team's people, performance, growth, and capacity, and you'll lead engineers across both frontend and backend, so you're comfortable managing outside your own core discipline. You'll serve requests from multiple product teams while also driving your own technical roadmap for the platform, and bring strong judgment to prioritize across both. You'll also partner closely with our Infrastructure team on shared platform concerns. If you're an engineering leader who enjoys solving problems that make everyone else's job easier, we'd like to talk.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Lead and support a cross-functional team of engineers with a focus on delivery, people development, and process improvement.

Balance your team's own technical roadmap with prioritized requests from multiple product teams, communicating trade-offs transparently.

Maintain and evolve engineering-wide standards — security, tooling, CI/CD, developer experience — that other teams rely on.

Partner with the Infrastructure team on shared platform concerns, with clear ownership boundaries.

Mentor and guide team members in their professional development, while promoting a culture of active coaching within the team.

Support engineers in making technical decisions while ensuring processes and delivery run effectively.

Establish delivery estimates, monitor progress, and help the team overcome obstacles and resolve blockers.

Own recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes to strengthen and grow the team.

Facilitate regular one-on-one meetings to set goals, evaluate performance, and provide continuous feedback.

Foster documentation, knowledge sharing, and open communication across the wider engineering org.

Cultivate empathy and openness towards team members from diverse backgrounds, and promote a positive workplace culture.

Contribute to improving processes in a remote-first, globally distributed environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

7+ years of relevant experience in advanced software development, including 2+ years of engineering leadership.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Comfortable operating across both frontend and backend engineering — enough technical range to support a mixed-discipline team, even without deep expertise in every stack.

Hands-on experience with scalability, reliability, observability, and security principles, with the credibility to set standards other teams follow.

Experience owning platform, DevOps, security, or developer-tooling work.

Familiarity with software engineering fundamentals, best practices, and problem-solving, with the ability to guide senior and staff engineers.

Familiarity with testing strategies and CI/CD pipelines, focusing on maintainability and code quality.

Working knowledge of incident response practices.

Proven ability to lead teams in execution — guiding engineers, resolving blockers, and ensuring delivery commitments are met.

Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills, with experience negotiating priorities across multiple teams.

You are confident, detail-oriented, and highly motivated to contribute to the organization's growth as part of a high-performing team.

Demonstrates AI literacy, with the ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, decision-making, and work quality while applying sound judgment and critical thinking.
