The role

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you'll support the design, review, and development of critical electrical infrastructure, including low-, medium-, and high-voltage systems. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on data center design experience who can drive technical decisions, coordinate with partners, and ensure designs meet operational and regulatory requirements.

Travel: This position will require on-site presence at data centers.

Your responsibilities will include:

Review electrical design packages for data center projects, including internal concepts and third-party partner designs.

Support development of electrical design concepts for high-density data center environments.

Evaluate UPS, LV, MV, and HV electrical infrastructure.

Review cable distribution, electrical pathways, and design coordination with data hall layouts.

Partner with mechanical, construction, commissioning, and operations stakeholders to ensure designs are buildable, maintainable, and aligned with business needs.

Assess designs for concurrently maintainable data center operations and high power-density environments.

Help identify alternative design solutions, product options, and technical tradeoffs.

We expect you to have:

3+ years of experience with electrical systems in large-scale data centers or other critical infrastructure environments.

Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain one within 2 years.

Experience designing, operating, commissioning, or maintaining electrical distribution systems.

Strong knowledge of UPS systems, generators, switchgear, transformers, and power distribution equipment.

Understanding of medium- and high-voltage electrical systems and protection schemes.

Experience leading engineering teams and driving technical projects in complex environments.

Ability to manage internal stakeholders, consultants, vendors, and outsourced project teams.

Knowledge of electrical codes and standards, including NFPA 70 and UL requirements.

Experience with power system analysis tools such as SKM, ETAP, or Cymcap.

Ability to interpret construction drawings, support commissioning activities, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

It will be an added bonus if you have:

Experience with neocloud, GPU, or AI infrastructure data centers.

Experience at hyperscalers, colocation providers, or mission-critical engineering environments.

Familiarity with high-density rack environments.

Experience supporting design reviews through commissioning or operational turnover.

Compensation

We offer competitive salaries ranging from $115K to $225K OTE, which includes base salary and bonus.

Base Compensation Range

$115,000—$225,000 USD
