Director, Talent Acquisition
Role Description and Mission:
At Agero, we are on a mission to transform the driving experience by combining cutting-edge technology with human-powered care. As our Director of Talent Acquisition, you won't just manage a function—you will architect a high-velocity talent machine that powers our business.
We believe that recruiting is a blend of data-driven science and empathetic human art. In this role, you will lead a dedicated team of recruiting professionals who discover, engage, and land the exceptional talent required to safeguard over 30,000 drivers every single day. Reporting directly to our Chief People Officer, you will lead with a tech-forward, human-first philosophy—leveraging advanced recruitment tech and analytics to eliminate friction, while obsessing over candidate experience, inclusion, and team growth.
What You'll Do/Key Outcomes:
Empower a World-Class Team: Foster a supportive, transparent environment built on trust and growth. Your mission is to coach smart recruiters into elite talent advisors who love where they work.
Treat Recruiting as a Product: Deploy a frictionless, modern tech stack (think AI automation, proactive CRM nurture tracks, and clean data integrations). Automate the mundane so your team has more time for high-impact human conversations.
Obsess Over the Candidate Journey: Ensure that every single candidate who interacts with Agero—regardless of the hiring outcome—leaves with a deep respect for our brand. You will design elite, inclusive candidate experiences from first touch to onboarding.
Consult on the Future: Partner closely with business leaders as a trusted strategic advisor. Use market intelligence and workforce performance data to proactively shape workforce pipelines rather than just reacting to open requisitions.
Measure What Matters: Move beyond basic time-to-fill metrics. Dive deep into candidate sentiment (NPS), quality-of-hire variables, and funnel velocity to identify root-cause challenges, pitch agile experiments, and move the business needle.
Amplify Our Employer Brand: Actively champion Agero’s story, values, and tech platforms (like Swoop) to build vibrant, diverse talent communities before the hiring need even arises.
Skills, Education and Experience:
An Inspiring Leader: You have 3–5+ years of direct people management experience, with a passion for mentorship, talent architecture, and helping people unlock their potential.
Experienced TA Operator: You bring 7–10 years of progressive, full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably in cultures that fuse high-growth tech with customer service excellence.
Tech-Forward, Human-First: You are passionate about utilizing the latest AI and talent tech tools, but you never lose sight of the fact that recruiting is fundamentally an industry built on relationships, empathy, and human connection.
Analytical & Scientific: You run towards data. You know how to leverage research and data intelligence to diagnose bottlenecks, test hypotheses, and justify your strategies to executive stakeholders.
Agile & Resilient: You possess the grit and quick-thinking required to pivot talent strategies seamlessly in an ever-evolving market.
Hiring In:
Massachusetts: Ability to collaborate hybrid-style, including working at least 1x per week at our Medford, MA headquarters to stay organically connected to our team and culture.
