Director, Sales Training & Field Enablement
Reporting to the Senior Director, Sales Training & Effectiveness, the Director, Sales Training & Field Enablement owns the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of the new hire sales academy, the sales training curriculum, and the company's largest field-facing meetings — including the product launch meeting, national sales meetings, and POA/regional sales meetings. This role also serves as the primary Sales Training liaison to Marketing and Medical Affairs for the review and professional promotion (MLR/PRC) of field-facing training and promotional materials, ensuring content is accurate, on-brand, compliant, and launch-ready.
This is a builder role for an individual who thrives on turning brand strategy and clinical content into structured, engaging, and certifiable training experiences, and who can manage the logistics and content design of large-scale company meetings under tight timelines.
Pre-Launch Note: Ahead of the January launch meeting, this role will work in close, day-to-day collaboration with the Director, Sales Capability & Performance Development to ensure the newly hired sales force is fully trained, certified, and launch-ready. Immediately following the launch meeting, the two roles will formally bifurcate along the scopes outlined below.
Principal Responsibilities
New Hire Training & Sales Academy
Own the design and delivery of the new hire sales academy, including disease state, product, competitive, and selling skills curricula
Build certification standards and assessments to validate new hire readiness prior to field deployment
Partner with the Director, Sales Capability & Performance Development to ensure a seamless handoff from initial certification into ongoing field coaching and development
Curriculum Design & Maintenance
Develop, maintain, and version-control the core sales training curriculum across live, virtual, and digital (LMS) formats
Establish a governance process for updating curriculum content as label, competitive landscape, and clinical data evolve
Manage the training content library and ensure alignment with approved, MLR/PRC-cleared materials
Brand Liaison & Promotional Material Development
Serve as the Sales Training team's primary liaison to Marketing, Medical Affairs, and Compliance for the professional promotion (MLR/PRC) review process
Partner with Marketing to translate brand strategy, key messages, and creative platforms into field-ready training and reinforcement materials
Manage submission, tracking, and approval of training-related materials through the promotional review process
Large-Scale Company Meetings
Lead end-to-end planning and execution of the January launch meeting, including agenda design, content development, logistics, and cross-functional coordination
Own the design and execution of national sales meetings, POA meetings, and other large-group field events
Partner with Sales Leadership, Marketing, and external vendors/agencies to ensure meetings are on-brand, on-message, and operationally flawless
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Compliance, and Sales Leadership to ensure consistent, accurate, and compliant field communication
Manage relationships with external training vendors, meeting/event agencies, and learning technology partners
Provide regular updates to the Senior Director, Sales Training & Effectiveness on curriculum status, meeting readiness, and promotional review timelines
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree a plus
10+ years of pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience, including sales training, curriculum design, or field enablement
Prior people leadership experience, or completion of a formal people leadership development program at a prior company, preferred
Prior experience supporting a product launch, new hire academy, or national sales meeting strongly preferred
Direct experience navigating MLR/promotional review (PRC) processes and pharmaceutical compliance requirements for field-facing content
Cardiovascular and/or chronic care therapeutic experience preferred
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams under launch timelines
Familiarity with learning technologies and CRM-enabled training tools (e.g., Veeva, LMS platforms)
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; experience managing external agencies and vendors
A builder mindset with high personal accountability, resourcefulness, and a collaborative spirit
Travel
This position requires up to 20% travel. Frequently travel is outside the local area and overnight.
US Salary Range: $175,000 - $190,000
