THE WORK:

The Director of Product Planning will act as the connection within our product group, converting strategy into a practical, well-ordered plan. This person keeps the product team coordinated, informed, and progressing effectively. This role offers high visibility and influence for someone wanting to engage with the full product organization.

You will not directly own a feature roadmap. Your role is to guide the process that aligns and prioritizes all product leaders’ roadmaps. The metrics themselves are created by our Data Science team. Your responsibility is to manage how these metrics are analyzed, communicated, and formed into a decisive narrative.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Roadmap and Prioritization

Own the end-to-end planning process that turns strategic priorities into a resourced, sequenced roadmap across product lines

Facilitate tradeoff and prioritization discussions among product leaders, surfacing conflicts and dependencies before they become blockers

Keep the roadmap current and credible as priorities shift, and make sure changes are communicated clearly to collaborators

Cross-Functional Execution and Operating Rhythm

Build and manage the product org's operating rhythm — planning cycles, launch readiness reviews, cross-team syncs, retros

Own the tooling and systems (e.g., Jira, Linear, Notion) that keep planning artifacts organized and trustworthy as a single source of truth

Identify and resolve cross-team dependencies and process gaps before they slow down execution

Metrics Reporting and Synthesis

Partner closely with Data Science, who build and maintain the underlying metrics and dashboards

Own the reporting layer on top of the data. Pull the right numbers together, synthesize their meaning, and package them into clear, recurring updates for product and company leadership.

Translate data into recommendations and talking points — not just charts — to inform planning and prioritization decisions

Special Projects and Organizational Support

Serve as a versatile resource for the Senior Director of Product Management, leading cross-organizational initiatives, coordinating process enhancements, or conducting ad hoc analyses

Represent the product org's planning function in conversations with adjacent teams (engineering, build, legal/compliance, finance) as needed

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

5+ years in product operations, technical program management, chief-of-staff, or a similar cross-functional planning role

Strong track record running planning/prioritization processes across multiple teams or product lines

Comfortable working with data and metrics, even if you do not build the underlying pipelines. You know how to ask Data Science the right questions. Then, you turn their output into a story.

Excellent written and verbal communication; able to synthesize complexity into something leadership can act on quickly

Highly organized, low-ego, and energized by making other people's work easier and more coherent

Experience leading or managing a team is a plus, though this role may start as an individual contributor

Experience in a fast paced, regulated, or high-stakes industry is a plus
