THE ROLE

Director of Quality Control, Hardlines

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collaborate with Merchandising, Sourcing, and Product Development teams to proactively identify and address potential quality concerns during product development, and govern the necessary quality controls in pre-production and production to guarantee flawless execution.

Ensure product meets the design, safety, construction, and regulatory standards for domestic, and international markets

Develop and execute failure mode and effect analysis for new product developments.  Develop product testing protocols and inspection plans to proactively mitigate any potential quality or defect issue.   This includes defining the test and inspection criteria, pass fail criteria, number of samples required for testing and inspection plans, and ensure the successful execution of testing and inspection plans.

Accountable for the governance Test Protocols and Inspection Plans for Home Textiles. Ensure all team members and third-parties are using approved protocols and inspection forms.

Keep up to date on latest regulations and industry best practices and implement necessary adjustments for compliance.

Establish solid working connections with key internal and external partners to guarantee all quality systems, best practices, and tools are properly rolled out and utilized.

Lead a team of Quality Assurance professionals that manage the quality and compliance programs for Home Textiles.

DESIRED SKILLS:

Proven track record of ability to think strategically and communicate in a structured way

Proven track record in driving impact - e.g. defect reduction, continuous improvement and efficiency improvement.

Experience leading technical quality improvement initiatives for Home Furnishings.

Experience developing product testing protocols using industry accepted test methods.

Knowledge of relevant quality tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, Statistical Process Control, etc.).

Quality management experience within manufacturing, processing engineering,

Strong understanding of total quality management principles

Experience leading and developing top performing quality teams
