Director of International Affairs
What You'll Do:
The CoreWeave Legal and Government Affairs (LGA) team is highly collaborative and partners closely with teams across the company to navigate complex policy, regulatory, and business environments while enabling innovation and growth. The team is pragmatic, solutions-oriented, and deeply engaged in strategic decision-making, with a strong emphasis on building trusted relationships across the organization.
As Director of International Affairs, you will lead our international affairs and engagement strategy for CoreWeave's expansion into new international markets. You will build trusted relationships with key government officials, regulators, and diplomatic and economic development officials, and you will work side by side with Corporate Development, Legal, and the build teams to open doors, de-risk deals, and accelerate the path from announcement to operating capacity. If you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, enjoy solving complex problems, and are eager to make a significant impact, CoreWeave is the place for you.
About the Role
Reporting to the Vice President, Head of Government Affairs, the Director will shape CoreWeave's international affairs strategy and advance the policy, political, and diplomatic groundwork that supports the company's global growth.
You'll work closely with foreign government officials, regulators, investment promotion and economic development agencies, embassies, the U.S. government and its overseas posts, in-country consultants and advisors, trade associations, and local partners to advance CoreWeave's objectives in markets where we operate and seek to grow. This role is embedded with the commercial and build side of the business. You will join deal teams early, help evaluate the political and regulatory environment in a prospective market, and support negotiations, permitting, energy access, and community and stakeholder engagement through site selection, construction, and launch.
You'll represent CoreWeave before senior government officials and other key stakeholders, make the case for CoreWeave as a trusted, long-term partner for sovereign and local AI ecosystems, and help shape the policy environment in markets across Europe, Asia, and Canada. This role is ideal for a commercially minded diplomat and operator who thrives in building relationships, reading political dynamics across borders, and translating policy and political analysis into business outcomes.
In this role you will:
Own and lead CoreWeave's international affairs, with accountability for market-entry and expansion priorities across assigned regions.
Partner with Corporate Development and business leaders from the earliest stages of a deal to assess political, regulatory, and stakeholder risk, shape market-entry strategy, and support negotiations with governments and public-sector counterparties.
Work alongside the build, real estate, energy, and operations teams to support site selection, permitting, grid and power access, incentives, and community engagement in new markets, with a focus on speed to capacity.
Partner with regional government affairs leads, who drive day-to-day government engagement in their markets, to develop shared strategies and advance CoreWeave's priorities across regions.
Develop and execute market-specific engagement plans that identify key stakeholders, anticipate emerging issues, establish engagement milestones, and recommend practical courses of action and escalation paths.
Build and maintain strong relationships with senior and relevant government officials, regulators, diplomats, and key stakeholders to support CoreWeave's priorities and reputation as a trusted partner.
Monitor, analyze, and interpret international legislative, regulatory, trade, export control, data sovereignty, and energy developments relevant to AI infrastructure and data center growth.
Coordinate closely with U.S. government counterparts and CoreWeave's federal affairs, national security, and legal teams to align international engagement with U.S. policy objectives.
Manage and direct outside advisors, in-country consultants, and local partners, and coordinate with internal stakeholders (commercial, legal, communications, operations) to support consistent messaging and alignment around international objectives.
Represent CoreWeave at relevant hearings, government meetings, summits, industry events, and stakeholder engagements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field.
Minimum of 15 years of progressive professional experience in international government affairs, public policy, diplomacy, trade, or a closely related role, including experience supporting business expansion into multiple foreign markets.
Demonstrated ability to work alongside corporate development, business development, or commercial teams on international deals, market entry, or large-scale infrastructure investment.
Excellent diplomatic and political judgment, with a proven track record of building and managing relationships with senior government officials, policymakers, and diplomats across political systems and cultures.
Deep understanding of how government decisions on regulation, permitting, energy, trade, and investment translate to business outcomes.
Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex policy and geopolitical information into clear recommendations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences, including senior executives and government principals.
Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple initiatives across time zones, and drive projects to completion.
Comfort with ambiguity and ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and execute strategies within a collaborative team structure.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in the technology, energy, or infrastructure sectors, including data center, power, or telecommunications development.
Knowledge of AI, cloud computing, or related technology sectors, and of the policy debates around AI sovereignty, data localization, and export controls.
Experience in or deep familiarity with target markets in Europe, Asia, or Canada, including the UK, the Nordics, Spain, India, and Indonesia.
Experience working with or in the U.S. government, a foreign government, an embassy, or a multilateral institution.
Experience with coalition building, trade association engagement, or advocacy campaign management across jurisdictions.
Language skills relevant to CoreWeave's target markets.
Track record of generating business results or revenue impact from government affairs work.
