Director of Customer Data & Strategy
SUMMARY:
The Director of Customer Data & Strategy leads our consumer data strategy, converting raw metrics into actionable insights that drive business growth and elevate client experiences. Sitting at the intersection of technical systems and executive goals, this role manages a cross-functional team of analysts and engineers to ensure trusted, high-quality customer information is accessible across the entire enterprise.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Strategy & Governance: Design and execute the enterprise customer data roadmap. Establish strict standards for data quality, safety, and regulatory privacy compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
Consumer Insights: Oversee research initiatives focused on customer behavior, market trends, and purchasing habits to inform long-term business strategy.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with Marketing, Product, and Sales leaders to integrate data-driven insights into product launches, acquisition strategies, and marketing campaigns.
Data Democratization: Oversee the development of internal tools, data catalogs, and self-service dashboards so non-technical stakeholders can easily access certified data.
Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of data analysts and scientists, improving technical execution and career growth.

EXPERIENCE:
Required:
8–10+ years of progressive experience in data analytics, market research, or data management.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a direct team management role.
Hands-on experience with modern data platforms and advanced SQL.
Experience with enterprise BI and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Proven track record of navigating complex regulatory privacy standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
Preferred:
Masters or advanced degree in Data Science, Statistics, Business, or Information Systems.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Professional verbal and written English communication skills. Ability to articulate complex design decisions clearly to non-design executives, engineering leads, and business stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Business, Marketing, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: REMOTE. Regular use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment. Regular, repetitive movements such as typing, mouse movements, and scrolling. Ability to hear and understand spoken communications, both in person and via remote communication tools. Ability to see and read computer screens and printed documents, as well as adjust focus. This includes prolonged periods of looking at a computer screen.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Remote
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: Monday through Friday, normal business hours.
