Digital Director, T Magazine
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Digital Director to develop and execute T's online presence. This role leads a team across online, social, and newsletters, working closely across departments (editorial, design, photo, fashion, audience, and newsroom) to develop the digital lineup, maintain schedules, enforce deadlines, and secure prominent placement of T articles across various New York Times channels.
This is a hybrid position based in New York City and includes four days in the office each week.
Responsibilities:
Pitch, assign and edit digital stories and packages consisting of multiple articles of varying length
Manage a team of editors and strategists
Work closely with top editorial staff including the Deputy Editor and Editor in Chief to implement a digital strategy that aligns with the larger goals of the Times's newsroom
Track progress of contributors including communicating changes and deadlines
Work with the photo, design, digital strategy and social media teams on visuals and promotion
Partner with the managing editor and assistant managing editor on maintaining editorial calendars and schedules
Adhere to The Times's editorial standards
Demonstrate support and understanding of our value of journalistic independence and a strong commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world.
You will report to the Editorial Director of T Magazine.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 7 years of experience in editing, writing and digital strategy
Strong background in T Magazine's core focus areas: fashion, design, art, food, travel
A network of writers and editors that can regularly contribute to the site, and an abiding desire to find new ones
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills
A strong understanding of website metrics and CMS

The annual base pay range for this role is between:
$150,000—$175,000 USD
