Job Title: Data Engineer

Locations: Bangalore/Ahmedabad

Reports to: Sr. Director, IT Operations

As a Data Engineer, your role will be to partner with application developers to determine the best representation of the data that supports business processes and provides design models that reduce data redundancy, streamline the data movement, and improve enterprise information management. Your core job responsibilities will include analyzing raw data and developing and maintaining those datasets by improving the data quality and efficiency.

This position plays a key role in “Enterprise Data Analytics” wherein as a Data Engineer, you will create a comprehensive and optimized data model that helps create a simplified, logical database, reduces storage requirements, and enables efficient retrieval to develop a data-driven organization with an "enterprise perspective". You help to create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture to provide scalable solutions to manage large imports and implement operational procedures as necessary. You will transform business information into models by engaging and partnering with business users to solicit their requirements and iteratively refine the conceptual, logical, and physical data models.

Are you the person we’re looking for?

Related Experience. You are likely to have more than 3 years of experience in data engineering and modeling, emphasizing data analytics and reporting.

Data Engineering & Analytics Expertise. You have experience designing and developing relational databases within enterprise environments and are skilled in modern data modeling techniques. You possess a strong understanding of business intelligence best practices, dimensional modeling, data warehousing, SQL, and reporting solutions. Knowledge on reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau is a must.

Snowflake Experience. Hands-on experience designing and delivering solutions using Snowflake is required.

Salesforce Knowledge. Familiarity with the Salesforce data model is a plus.

ETL & Data Integration Skills. You have experience building and maintaining data pipelines that extract and transform data from a variety of sources using Matillion ETL. You understand how APIs are used within ETL processes to integrate data across business applications. Experience with SSIS is advantageous.

Modern Data & AI Technologies. You are comfortable working with Python and have experience leveraging AI-powered tools such as Claude and Microsoft Copilot Studio to develop intelligent agents and automate business processes.

Design and Implementation. You possess strong experience in designing and building up a robust data warehouse to implement reporting solutions for internal stakeholders and clients.

Cross-functional responsibility. You will work with cross-functional teams across the business to ensure Enterprise Data Analytics (EDA) deliverables continue to be improved and add value to their business stakeholders.

Adaptability and Initiative. You are a self-starter, possess a strong commitment to detail, and can work in a rapidly changing environment. You don’t wait around for things to happen or for your manager to tell you what to do. You’re not only proactive about completing your work, but when you sense the need to introduce a project that will benefit the team or the organization -- even if it’s outside your scope of work -- you put a proposal together, talk to the team about it, and own it, and that also goes back to having an entrepreneurial spirit.

Education. A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.

Tools and certifications. Having certifications in Snowflake, Cloud Platforms like AWS/Azure, AI would be an added advantage.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills. You should be comfortable initiating and engaging in collaborative discussions. Your strong listening skills help to build trust and foster connections with our clients. They also ensure you collect the correct information so you can resolve issues most expediently.

The Data Engineer is tasked with the responsibility of contributing to the continual improvement of the business’s data platforms through observations and well-researched knowledge. You keep track of industry best practices and trends, and through your acquired knowledge, take advantage of process and system improvement opportunities
