Robinhood's Crypto Legal team supports the company's onchain products, including Robinhood Chain, Robinhood Wallet, and Stock Tokens. The team partners with Product, Engineering, and Compliance across multiple business lines and jurisdictions to help these products launch responsibly and on schedule. We look for attorneys who are pragmatic, collaborative, and decisive.

As a Crypto Onchain Attorney, you will serve as product counsel for Robinhood's onchain products. You'll advise Product and Engineering teams on legal and regulatory considerations from early design through launch, and help structure go-to-market strategy across multiple jurisdictions. You will work closely with business partners throughout the Crypto organization to keep legal strategy consistent across the onchain product suite. This role has immediate, visible impact: you'll help shape how Robinhood develops onchain finance.

This role is based in our New York, NY, Menlo Park, CA and Washington, DC office(s), with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

What you’ll do

Serve as product counsel for Robinhood's onchain products, advising from concept through launch

Partner with Product, Engineering, and Compliance to evaluate legal and regulatory risk for new onchain features and multi-jurisdictional launches

Review and edit commercial contracts in support of partnerships

Work with legal and business partners to align legal strategy across the on-chain product suite

Track and interpret crypto regulatory developments across jurisdictions, and translate them into practical guidance for Product and Engineering teams

Help develop legal frameworks that support Robinhood's expansion into new onchain markets and products

What you bring

You have a securities, derivatives, or financial services legal background, with experience moving into crypto-focused work, either in-house or at a law firm

You bring 4+ years of relevant legal experience, including substantive work advising on self-custody wallets, decentralized exchanges, or tokenized assets

You're comfortable operating across jurisdictions where regulatory guidance is still developing

You explain legal and regulatory concepts clearly to non-legal partners in Product and Engineering

You balance legal risk with the pace of a fast-moving product organization

You have experience using the latest AI tooling for legal research and drafting

In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + equity + benefits.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.

Zone 1 (Menlo Park, CA; New York, NY; Bellevue, WA; Washington, DC)

$187,000—$220,000 USD

Zone 2 (Denver, CO; Westlake, TX; Chicago, IL)

$165,000—$194,000 USD

Zone 3 (Lake Mary, FL; Clearwater, FL; Gainesville, FL)

$146,000—$172,000 USD
