Controller
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Corporate Controller, the Controller, Metal Processing & Projects will lead the accounting, financial reporting, and internal control functions for OBE's metal processing and project-based operations, including two metal processing facilities and seven project facilities.
This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of accounting processes related to inventory valuation, standard costing, inventory controls, bad debt reserves, warranty reserves, back charge reserves, sales cut-off, goods received not invoiced (GRNI), and other key accounting areas.
As a key leader within OBE's accounting organization, this individual will ensure accounting policies, procedures, and controls are consistently applied across the business and maintained in accordance with U.S. GAAP. The successful candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, process improvement experience, and a passion for building scalable financial controls in a dynamic and evolving environment.
This is a newly created position that will play a significant role in supporting the company's growth strategy. We are seeking a change-oriented leader who is comfortable driving transformation, enhancing processes, and partnering across the organization to build best-in-class accounting operations.
This hybrid position requires working onsite four days per week from either OBE's Corporate Headquarters in Dallas, TX or the metal processing facility in Terrell, TX.

Leadership & Talent Development

Financial Control & Compliance

Partner with internal and external auditors and serve as the primary liaison during audits.

Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA designation required.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting leadership experience.
Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting principles.
Experience in manufacturing and/or construction environments.
Strong background in cost accounting and percentage-of-completion accounting.
Proven experience designing and implementing effective internal controls.
Excellent collaboration, leadership, and business partnership skills.
Ability to work onsite four days per week in Dallas, TX or Terrell, TX.
Preferred
Master's degree in Accounting or MBA.
Big Four public accounting experience.
Experience in a publicly traded company operating within a SOX-compliant environment.
Experience working within private equity-backed organizations.
Exposure to large-scale ERP systems and accounting process automation initiatives.
