Metrea is establishing an Australian CASR Part 42 Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) to support specialised aviation operations.

Position Summary

Metrea is seeking an experienced Continuing Airworthiness Manager (CAM) to provide senior technical and regulatory leadership of its Australian CASR Part 42 CAMO.

The CAM will be responsible for the effective management and supervision of the CAMO's continuing airworthiness activities and for ensuring those activities are conducted in accordance with applicable Australian civil aviation legislation, the conditions and scope of the CAMO approval, and the approved Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition (CAME).

The CAM will report directly to the CAMO Accountable Manager and provide leadership and oversight of the Responsible Managers and continuing airworthiness functions established within the CAMO.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the establishment, CASA approval and subsequent operation of Metrea's Australian Part 42 CAMO and its continuing airworthiness capability.

What You'll Do

The Continuing Airworthiness Manager will:

lead the establishment, implementation and ongoing operation of Metrea's Australian CASR Part 42 CAMO;

ensure the CAMO conducts its continuing airworthiness management activities in accordance with applicable CASR, the Part 42 Manual of Standards (MOS), the CAMO approval and the approved CAME;

provide leadership, management and supervision of the CAMO's continuing airworthiness activities;

oversee the Responsible Managers and continuing airworthiness functions established within the CAMO organisational structure;

ensure appropriate systems are established and maintained to determine and control the continuing airworthiness status of aircraft managed by the CAMO;

oversee development, approval, control and effectiveness of aircraft maintenance programs;

ensure applicable Airworthiness Directives and other mandatory continuing airworthiness requirements are identified, assessed and complied with;

ensure modifications, repairs, service information and applicable Instructions for Continuing Airworthiness (ICA) are appropriately assessed, incorporated and controlled;

oversee aircraft maintenance planning and ensure required maintenance is forecast, planned and accomplished within applicable requirements and limitations;

oversee aircraft defect and deferred-defect management;

ensure appropriate arrangements are established and maintained with approved maintenance organisations and other contracted service providers;

oversee the management and control of aircraft continuing airworthiness records and technical records;

oversee aircraft configuration management and continuing airworthiness status control;

ensure appropriate reliability monitoring, analysis and corrective action processes are established and maintained;

ensure airworthiness review activities are appropriately managed in accordance with Part 42 and the approved CAME;

ensure sufficient competent personnel, resources, facilities, systems and information are available to enable the CAMO to discharge its continuing airworthiness responsibilities;

ensure personnel performing continuing airworthiness functions are appropriately competent, authorised and supported;

work closely with flight operations, approved maintenance organisations, aircraft and equipment manufacturers, design organisations and other technical service providers;

support the independent CAMO quality system and ensure appropriate action is taken in response to audit findings, compliance issues and identified systemic deficiencies;

provide senior technical advice to the Accountable Manager and relevant Metrea management on aircraft continuing airworthiness, reliability, technical risk and regulatory matters;

act as the principal CAMO interface with CASA for matters relating to continuing airworthiness and the Part 42 approval; and

promote effective technical decision-making, regulatory compliance and a strong continuing airworthiness culture throughout the organisation.

What You'll Bring

The successful candidate will possess the knowledge, experience and technical competence appropriate to the complexity, scope and aircraft managed by Metrea's Part 42 CAMO.

Metrea intends the competency standard for the position to reflect the Continuing Airworthiness Manager standards established within the Part 42 MOS, including:

substantial practical experience in aircraft continuing airworthiness management, including at least three years of relevant continuing airworthiness management experience;

comprehensive knowledge of Australian civil aviation legislation and standards applicable to aircraft continuing airworthiness;

comprehensive knowledge and practical understanding of CASR Part 42 and the Part 42 MOS;

demonstrated understanding of Part 42 CAMO organisational structures, responsibilities and continuing airworthiness management systems;

knowledge of aircraft maintenance programs, maintenance planning, defect management, Airworthiness Directive management, modifications and repairs, reliability management and technical records;

knowledge and understanding of CAMO quality systems and compliance monitoring;

knowledge of operational requirements having continuing airworthiness implications;

demonstrated experience managing technical personnel, service providers and complex continuing airworthiness activities; and

the ability to develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of Metrea's approved CAME and associated continuing airworthiness procedures.

Technical Qualifications

Candidates should possess technical qualifications appropriate to the responsibilities of the position and consistent with the competency standards established for a Continuing Airworthiness Manager under the Part 42 MOS.

Relevant qualifications may include:

holding, or having held, an aircraft engineer licence in Category B1, B2 or C, or an equivalent aircraft maintenance engineer licence;

a recognised qualification in aircraft maintenance or aviation maintenance management;

an appropriate engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification; or

another combination of relevant technical qualifications and aviation experience acceptable for the scope and complexity of the CAMO.

Highly Desirable Experience

The following experience will be highly regarded:

previous experience as a Continuing Airworthiness Manager or senior manager within an Australian CASR Part 42 CAMO;

demonstrated experience establishing, transitioning or materially developing a Part 42 CAMO;

experience participating in CASA CAMO approval, significant-change or surveillance activities;

continuing airworthiness management experience involving complex or large aircraft;

business aviation, special-mission or specialised aviation operations experience;

experience introducing new aircraft types into an Australian continuing airworthiness management system;

aircraft maintenance program development and reliability management experience;

experience managing contracted Part 145 Approved Maintenance Organisations;

aircraft configuration management and technical records establishment experience;

experience working with aircraft manufacturers, design organisations and international technical service providers; and

experience with electronic continuing airworthiness and maintenance information management systems.
