Consulting Engineer
What you’ll do at Jamf:
The Consulting Engineer's (CE) primary role is to partner within Sales and other departments to achieve sales and revenue goals, serving as technical authority and escalation resource for complex opportunities. This role blends deep Apple ecosystem expertise with advanced security knowledge across endpoint protection, identity management, and network security, enabling you to design and deliver integrated enterprise solutions that drive innovation and support our customers beyond traditional device management. You will collaborate closely with Sales, Product, and Marketing teams, as well as industry partners, to deliver secure, scalable, and innovative solutions for enterprise environments.

What you can expect to do in this role:
Perform all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization
Provide technical consultation and technical escalation for Sales and other departments
Serve as technical escalation resource for Sales Engineers on complex, strategic opportunities requiring advanced architecture expertise or executive engagement
Continuously update expertise and demonstrate deep understanding of subject matter specific to role assignment, including but not limited to:
Architecture of Jamf's comprehensive platform solutions: Jamf for Mac, Jamf for Mobile, Jamf for K-12, and Jamf for Small Business
Architecture of Android device management and security solutions
Architecture of identity management solutions leveraging Platform SSO and enterprise directory integration
Architecture of enterprise security infrastructure (SIEM, SOAR, IAM platforms)
Architecture of Apple-centric zero-trust network frameworks such as Managed Device Attestation and WireGuard
Architecture of cross-platform security frameworks for enterprise environments
Architecture of Apple and Android-centric security frameworks for enterprise environments
Understanding of common and emerging threat vectors and risks specific to Apple and Android enterprise environments
Architecture of advanced Jamf configurations including automation frameworks and API integrations
Custom workflows and automation for large-scale enterprise deployments
Lead response to complex RFPs requiring comprehensive Apple enterprise expertise
Deliver technical presentations and executive workshops for enterprise prospects and customers
Collaborate with Sales, Professional Services, and Product teams to architect custom Apple enterprise solutions spanning management, endpoint security, and network security
Build and maintain strategic partner relationships with complementary solution providers (Apple, Microsoft, CrowdStrike, Zscaler, Okta)
Develop and deliver internal training and knowledge transfer on Apple enterprise best practices and emerging capabilities
Create reusable implementation templates, automation tools, and methodologies for Apple enterprise deployments
Serve as an escalation point for Sales, Marketing, and Product teams on Apple enterprise matters
Represent Jamf as an Apple enterprise expert at industry events, conferences, and community forums
Drive innovation initiatives to address gaps in current solutions or where no solution exists
Contribute to product roadmap through field feedback and customer requirements
Active participation in professional development opportunities and industry training
Understand cross-platform integration scenarios and coexistence strategies in enterprise environments
Special projects assigned by management
What are we looking for:
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Apple device management, endpoint and/or network security (Required)
Experience working in consultative sales, pre-sales engineering, or technical sales support roles (Required)
Advanced knowledge of Apple Enterprise Management technologies, endpoint protection, identity management, and zero-trust network architectures (Required)
Advanced knowledge of Jamf products and solutions (Required)
Advanced knowledge of IT ecosystem and key partner integrations/complementary solutions including but not limited to Apple, Okta, Microsoft, CrowdStrike, Zscaler, SIEM/SOAR (Preferred)
Specialized expertise in minimum 2 of the following areas: endpoint security architectures, identity and access management, zero-trust network architectures, SIEM/SOAR integration, API development and automation frameworks, Infrastructure as Code, emerging technologies (AI/ML, Apple Intelligence) (Preferred)
Familiarity with scripting and automation languages (Go, Python, PowerShell, bash, Terraform, Ansible) and Apple developer languages (Swift, SwiftUI, Objective-C, Apple SDKs, Xcode) (Preferred)
Experience responding to RFPs and developing comprehensive solution proposals (Required)
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business outcomes for executives and decision-makers (Required)
Strong workshop and facilitation skills to align technical and business stakeholders (Preferred)
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English (Required)
Comfortable engaging with a wide range of personnel, from technical to executive positions (Required)
Experience identifying solution gaps, ability to propose innovations, and execute subsequent implementation strategies (Preferred)
Active participation in the Apple enterprise community including conferences, forums, user groups, thought leadership content, or public speaking (Preferred)
Education and certifications
Secondary school diploma or equivalent (Required)
4 Year / Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualification) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Preferred)
A combination of professional relevant experience and education may be considered
Jamf Certifications 300, 370, 400 (Preferred)
Relevant partner or security certifications aligned with focus area (Preferred)
Commitment to maintaining current certifications and pursuing emerging technology education
SECURITY AND PRIVACY REQUIREMENTS
Participation in ongoing security training is mandatory.
Established security protocols will be adhered to, sensitive data will be handled responsibly, and data protection practices are followed, including understanding relevant privacy regulations and reporting breaches.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel for customer visits, conferences, or internal events approximately 20% of the year
