Coatings Technician I- Temporary Assignment
Surmodics Services & Technologies is committed to providing the best in developing, manufacturing, and applying coatings on medical devices. We are looking for a temporary (approximately 10 months) Medical Device Coatings Technician I associate to take our manufactured coating and apply it to medical devices using a machine process. This associate would be required to follow all safety guidelines to complete the detailed coating steps. This is a 2nd shift, 10-hour a day role, Monday through Thursday, 2:00pm-12:30am, located in Horsham, PA.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare medical devices for production and perform operating procedures for applying coatings
Load machine with devices, monitor device movements throughout processing, unload devices and verify process for accuracy
Create finished labels and perform device intermediate and finished packaging
Assist in troubleshooting equipment
Keep all work areas clean, organized and operating according to company and ISO standards.
Write coating procedures and/or other work instructions
Ensure materials and solutions used in processing are recorded
Engage in continuous-improvement objectives and seek opportunities to support personal and company growth
Provide cross-functional support and perform additional duties as assigned or required to meet organizational goals and objectives
Perform visual inspections for coated devices
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma required
Experience in a technical discipline with minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a manufacturing, process development or production environment preferred
Critical Skills: mixing materials, reading, and understanding product specifications and SOP’s, operating various manufacturing machines, measuring & inspecting products/materials and clearly documenting all activities.
Ability to conduct performance testing on coated devices
Ability to prioritize and efficiently complete tasks with consistency and accuracy, often under pressure and/or short deadlines
Detail oriented, highly organized, capable of completing high quality work
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with co-workers as well as work independently
Computer literacy with Microsoft package, spreadsheet, and e-mail software
Strong oral and written communications skills
Ensures all interactions are consistent with company values and treats others with dignity and respect

Work Environment:
Office environment with occasional manufacturing and warehouse area exposure. Physical requirements are those that could be reasonably anticipated given the job duties and work environment.
Exposure to hazardous chemicals in certain areas of the office. Must wear required personal protective equipment while demonstrating safe working practices.
Physical Requirements
Physical Demands-Stooping, turning, bending, squatting, kneeling and the ability to lift up to 30 pounds; repetitive lifting up to 10lbs, constant/sitting for up to 8 hours while using a computer; standing for long periods of time, ability to wear required PPE while demonstrating safe work practices, requires normal, correctable vision and hearing, and the ability to accurately discern color as necessary to perform job functions.

Targeted Salary Range
$60,950—$60,950 USD
