Cloud DevOps & Technical Operations Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Cloud DevOps & Technical Operations Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This unique role is designed to be the "throughput engine" of our delivery team. You will spend 70% of your time designing, building, maintaining, and scaling robust CI/CD pipelines, automating infrastructure, integrating our solutions with our shared enterprise systems, and driving the maintenance of enterprise-grade systems. The remaining 30% of your time will be focused on Technical Operations, acting as our dedicated operational safeguard by managing cloud access control, security assessments, and compliance workflows to unblock senior engineers and lead developers.

The ideal candidate is a certified Google Cloud specialist who thrives on automating environments, enjoys maintaining high-security standards, and is highly organized in managing operational compliance.

What You’ll Do

Cloud DevOps & Platform Engineering (70%)

CI/CD & Automation: Design, build, and maintain robust, secure CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployments on Google Cloud Platform.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to manage multi-tenant and single-tenant cloud environments.

Enterprise Integration: Integrate localized applications and workflows with our shared enterprise systems to accelerate delivery speed and eliminate custom backend setups.

System Maintenance: Lead the continuous maintenance of enterprise-grade systems to ensure high availability, reliable scaling, and robust performance across all operational applications.

Core GCP Stack Management: Manage, configure, and monitor core Google Cloud services, specifically including App Engine (standard environments), Agent Engine (AI agent setups), Cloud Run, Cloud Storage/Firestore, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Build.

Runtime Optimization: Optimize runtime configurations (e.g., Python, Go, TypeScript) and manage secure application frameworks.

Technical Operations & Compliance (30%)

Security & Compliance Liaison: Serve as the primary operational coordinator for client-specific security reviews, vendor security assessments (VSA), and launch compliance gates.

Operational Housekeeping: Manage technical operations backlog: provision and manage API keys, monitor AI policy compliance, and maintain approved AI tool registries.

Access Control: Manage team access controls, repository/project group permissions, and Google Cloud project IAM roles (such as Editor/Viewer allocations).

Performance & Accessibility Audits: Execute and document static performance, compliance, and accessibility audits across staging environments before production releases to ensure "Google-Grade" standards.

Workflow Coordination: Coordinate with client-side technical liaisons and internal project managers to streamline code style reviews and secure deployment approvals.

About You

Required Qualifications

Certification: Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer (Active).

Experience: 3-5+ years of professional experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability, or Systems Engineering role in a cloud-native environment.

Enterprise Grade Systems: Demonstrated track record in the proactive maintenance of enterprise-grade systems with high availability and security requirements.

Cloud & Infrastructure: Hands-on experience building and deploying services on App Engine standard/flexible environments.

AI & Agent Environments: Understanding of or direct exposure to deploying and maintaining Agent Engine architectures or AI agent setups.

Automation Tooling: Strong proficiency in Terraform and setting up automated CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI).

Scripting & Web Dev: Solid scripting skills in Python or Bash, and familiarity with web technologies (TypeScript, Angular, or Lit).

Security Guardrails: Experience configuring cloud security controls, including Identity-Aware Proxy (IAP), Web Security Scanners, and HTTPS enforcement.

Soft Skills: Exceptional organizational skills with a passion for documentation, process hygiene, and administrative coordination.

Preferred Qualifications

Google Ecosystem Experience: Previous experience working directly with Google as a client, or within Google’s marketing agency ecosystem.

Familiarity with Google-native developer tools, version control repositories, and internal launch compliance processes (e.g., Kato, SPUR, Buganizer).

Additional Certifications: Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Cloud Security Engineer.

Experience running web accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA) and web performance audits.
