What you’ll do

As the Civil Superintendent, you will run civil construction on the ground at Giga's active data center sites — grading, earthwork, underground utilities, foundations, and site concrete — making sure the work happening in the dirt keeps pace with a schedule that doesn't wait. You'll manage subcontractors day-to-day, hold the line on safety and quality, and be the person who catches a problem before it becomes a delay. You'll work directly with the Construction Manager, PMs, and civil engineers to translate the plan on paper into a site that's actually built right, on time.

Where you’ll work

This is a site-based role. You'll be on-site full-time at an active Giga data center construction site, with the specific location depending on current project needs.

Responsibilities

Supervise day-to-day civil construction activities, including earthwork, grading, underground utilities, foundations, and site concrete

Coordinate and direct civil subcontractors, ensuring work is sequenced correctly and stays on schedule

Enforce site safety standards and conduct regular safety walks and toolbox talks

Inspect in-progress work for compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes

Maintain daily logs, track progress against the schedule, and flag delays or risks early

Coordinate with surveyors to verify grades, layout, and site conditions

Manage material deliveries and staging to keep the site organized and productive

Resolve field-level conflicts between trades and escalate issues that require design or engineering input

Support quality control inspections and punch list closeout for civil scopes

Partner with the Construction Manager and Project Managers on schedule updates, manpower planning, and subcontractor performance

Requirements

7+ years of experience in civil construction, with at least 3+ years in a superintendent or equivalent field leadership role

Experience running civil scopes on large-scale industrial, utility, or infrastructure projects

Strong working knowledge of grading, earthwork, underground utilities, and site concrete

Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, specifications, and geotechnical reports

OSHA 30 certification

Proven ability to manage subcontractors and hold them accountable to schedule and quality

Strong communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across trades, engineers, and project leadership

Bonus points

Experience building data centers or other mission-critical facilities

Experience with heavy civil scopes tied to utility interconnection or substation work

Familiarity with P&IDs or site electrical infrastructure coordination
