Civil Engineer
Woolpert is hiring a Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg. This position reports to the Site Civil Engineering Team Leader.
What You Will Do:
Design and create site layout plans in alignment with client requirements and Woolpert standards.
Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop concept plans, grading plans, and site designs.
Work with project management teams to identify impediments and develop/implement solutions to overcome obstacles.
Perform site due diligence assessments and compile data and reports.
Perform occasional field work and frequent local travel, and overnight travel, as needed.
Minimum Requirements
BEng / BSc (Eng) in Civil Engineering from a recognized South African university.
Minimum 10 years of post-graduate experience in civil engineering, ideally in infrastructure, hydrology, stormwater management, or structural design.
Eng registration with ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa) is required.
Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D or AutoCAD Civil 3D is also required locally used for civil design, roads, drainage, and stormwater systems.
Ability to manage multiple infrastructure projects, prepare design documentation and reports, and ensure compliance with ECSA Code of Conduct and project delivery timelines.
Demonstrated expertise in stormwater drainage design, runoff calculations, and compliance with local bylaws (e.g., SANS 1200, SANS 10400, and municipal stormwater standards).
Knowledge of hydraulic and hydrological modelling using tools such as HEC-RAS, EPANET, SWMM, or Civil 3D hydrology modules is highly advantageous.
