Interstates is looking for a Capital Tool Manager to help lead a major tool program that directly supports our field teams and jobsites across the country. In this role, you’ll bring structure, consistency, and smart decision-making to a capital tool inventory valued at approximately $20 million — helping make sure the right tools are in the right place, at the right time.

If you enjoy solving problems, building better processes, and making decisions that create real impact, this is a great opportunity to grow your career with a team that values dependability, trust, quality, and family.

What you’ll do

Manage the full lifecycle of capital tools, including acquisition, deployment, repair, depreciation, retirement, donation, and sale

Make informed repair-versus-replace decisions based on cost, safety, downtime, and remaining service life

Track repair costs and maintenance trends to support budgeting and replacement planning

Oversee the annual capital tool budget, forecasts, and related financial reporting

Monitor inventory accuracy, availability, and location across warehouse and jobsite assignments

Coordinate shipping, returns, and reallocation as project needs change

Lead tool standardization efforts and help identify approved tool models and preferred vendors

Partner with Safety, Operations, Procurement, and project teams to ensure tools support field and compliance needs

Stay current on recalls and product advisories and take appropriate action when needed

Develop and maintain SOPs that improve consistency, accountability, and efficiency

What we’re looking for

Experience in tool management, equipment management, fleet management, operations, or a related field

Strong financial acumen and comfort managing budgets, forecasts, and lifecycle cost decisions

Experience with inventory control and asset tracking

Ability to evaluate product quality, safety, and serviceability

Strong organization, problem-solving, and communication skills

A collaborative mindset when working with field, operations, safety, and procurement teams

Preferred qualifications

Experience managing a large capital tool or equipment program

Familiarity with depreciation, capital expense planning, and asset retirement processes

Experience building SOPs and standardizing operational processes

Background in construction, industrial services, or multi-site field operations

Experience working with vendors and evaluating tool technologies
