The position is expected to be an active, field-oriented leader who brings strong technical credibility, creates alignment around a limited number of high-impact initiatives, and supports Account Managers through customer engagement, opportunity strategy, training, and subject matter expertise.

Specific Responsibilities

Business Development and Sales Enablement

Actively review and analyze assigned industries, products, kinds of business (KOB), brands, competitors, market trends, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities, white space, and portfolio gaps.

Develop and lead sales and marketing strategies for the assigned business unit(s), with a disciplined focus on a limited number of high-impact annual priorities and initiatives.

Partner with Sales Managers and Account Managers to establish targets, opportunity plans, customer priorities, and measurable growth objectives.

Participate in face-to-face customer sales calls to provide subject matter expertise, technical credibility, discovery support, and commercial guidance.

Educate and enable the sales organization through product, application, industry, competitive, and solution training.

Serve as an internal champion for assigned products, technologies, and strategic programs, coordinating additional technical resources when needed.

Support coverage strategies for whitespace and growth accounts in collaboration with Sales leadership.

Develop strategy, marketing, targets and sales plan for launching new products and services.

Strategic Planning, Financial Ownership, and Reporting

Own the overall profit-and-loss performance of the assigned business units, including revenue growth, gross profit, operating priorities, and business-unit health.

Support the annual forecasting and budgeting process to meet company growth and profitability objectives.

Document and deliver regular business-unit health updates to company departments and leadership, including performance, forecast, pipeline, risks, opportunities, initiatives, and support needs.

Establish success measures at the beginning of each planning cycle and routinely assess progress against both overall business-unit results and defined tactical initiatives.

Balance strategic and tactical priorities so the organization remains focused on the initiatives most likely to produce meaningful business results.

Principal and Emerson Relationship Leadership

Serve as the primary business owner for relationships with Emerson and other assigned principals, establishing strong working relationships and open channels of communication.

Lead recurring principal meetings, business reviews, reporting, issue escalation, follow-up, and coordination across R.E. Mason departments.

Lead the preparation and execution of successful annual Growth Reviews, clearly communicating how R.E. Mason is addressing growth expectations, strategic priorities, market opportunities, and performance commitments.

Advocate for R.E. Mason customers and the territory while aligning local execution with principal strategies, programs, and expectations.

Inventory Planning and Optimization

Provide high-level review and approval for inventory recommendations developed by the Inventory Analyst and Supply Chain team.

Participate in regular cadence meetings with Supply Chain Management to review fulfillment, inventory turns, stocking effectiveness, customer demand, and opportunities to expand or optimize strategic inventory.

Approve decisions to add, retain, modify, or remove items from the inventory stocking program.

Be accountable for business-unit inventory metrics, including fulfillment rate and inventory turns, while relying on the Inventory Analyst for detailed analysis and recommendations.

Ability to teach, coach, and equip Account Managers and other associates with practical knowledge and tools.
