Business Development, Solar & ESS
Your Impact:
Pearce is seeking a well-qualified Business Development Manager – Solar & ESS. This is a true hunter/originator role responsible for creating new business opportunities, opening strategic accounts, and driving revenue growth across the Energy Storage and Solar markets. The successful candidate will identify, pursue, and secure new customers while developing new business and partnerships nationally. The key customer focus will encompass asset owners, utilities, developers, EPCs, OEMs, integrators, and investors. This role partners closely with Marketing, Operations, Engineering, and Executive teams to ensure accurate and consistent messaging. They will combine solid hunter/sales skills, business acumen, leadership ability, technical knowledge, process management, and operational excellence to drive the growth of the Solar & ESS business.
Core Responsibilities:
Identify and secure new customers and partners throughout the Solar & ESS industry.
Build and manage a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities and new logos.
Develop relationships with utilities, IPPs, developers, EPCs, OEMs, integrators, and asset owners.
Lead opportunity development from prospecting through contract execution.
Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, Engineering, Business Development, and Executive Leadership to drive growth initiatives.
Monitor market, customer, and competitor activity and provide strategic market intelligence that yield actionable results.
Represent Pearce at conferences, trade shows, and industry events.
Travel as required 25-50%.
Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs.
Core Experience
5+ years of successful business development, sales, or market development experience.
Experience in energy storage, battery storage, power generation, utilities, or renewable energy preferred.
Proven track record opening new accounts and generating revenue growth.
Existing contacts and relationships in the ESS ecosystem preferred.
Degree in Business, Engineering, Energy Management, or related discipline preferred.
Fluent in Excel, Salesforce or CRM systems, PowerPoint, and financial analysis.
Strong business acumen and exceptional communication skills.
