As a Business Controller Intern on the Finance team, you'll spend 12 weeks embedded with our Business Controller group, helping manage and improve Coinbase's finance product launch review program. You'll coordinate work across Finance, Product, Engineering, Compliance, Legal, and Operations to ensure launch reviews are well-scoped, risks are identified, decisions are documented, and commitments stay on track. This role sits at the intersection of finance fundamentals, cross-functional coordination, and process improvement using data, AI, and automation.

What you'll do:

Coordinate finance product launch review workstreams across Finance and cross-functional partners, tracking owners, dependencies, risks, decisions, and deadlines through completion

Support launch reviews by evaluating requirement documents, determining stakeholder impact, and confirming the validity of test transactions

Maintain project plans, action-item trackers, launch dashboards, status updates, and process documentation to ensure clear visibility, consistent execution, and adherence to internal control frameworks

Facilitate follow-up with stakeholders to resolve open questions, address blockers, and keep launch deliverables on track

Identify opportunities to improve the launch review process through data, AI, automation, and standardized workflows

Collaborate cross-functionally with Controllership, Tax, Treasury, Risk, Product, Engineering, Compliance, Legal, and Operations to address the financial implications of product releases

Proven ability to bring structure to ambiguous processes and communicate progress clearly, including providing status updates, surfacing risks and blockers, and aligning stakeholders on owners and next steps

Experience synthesizing data from multiple sources and presenting clear, structured findings to non-technical audiences

Hands-on experience using AI tools (e.g., LibreChat, Claude) and working knowledge of SQL or analytics platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Looker, or similar) for analysis, automation, or workflow improvement

Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality
