Business Analyst II - Fraud
Job Description:
We're looking for a data-driven analyst to join our Fraud Analytics team. In this role, you'll partner cross-functionally with Fraud Operations, Product, and Analytics to turn data into action. You’ll surface fraud trends, size risk, and help shape the strategy that protects our players and our platform, while keeping the experience frictionless for the vast majority of legitimate users. You're a great fit if you're comfortable digging into messy, high-volume transactional data, enjoy translating findings into clear recommendations, and want your analysis to directly influence how PrizePicks fights fraud.
What You'll Do:
Deliver analytical work that actually moves the needle — protecting the platform while making the experience better for good players.
Build, document, and maintain easy-to-use, insightful dashboards and reusable analyses that monitor fraud performance and key risk indicators.
Distill complex datasets into recommendations with clear visualizations and concise talking points for non-technical stakeholders.
Partner with Engineering, Fraud Ops and Product to identify and close data, performance, and process gaps.
Conduct deep-dive analyses to support fraud-related business decisions with data-driven insights and recommendations.
Scope and complete ad-hoc data requests around fraud trends and product initiatives.
What You'll Have:
Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Statistics, Finance, Mathematics, Analytics, or a related field
2+ years of experience in risk analytics, fraud detection, or a related data-focused field, preferably within online gaming, Daily Fantasy Sports, or fintech
Working understanding of common fraud vectors in an online transactional environment (payment fraud, identity fraud, bonus abuse, etc.) and how fraud controls can impact legitimate user experience
Technical Skills
Advanced SQL for extracting, manipulating, and analyzing data
Data visualization experience (e.g., Tableau)
Strong Excel skills
Python experience a plus (automation, modeling, or statistical analysis)
Soft Skills
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences
Detail-oriented with a high standard for accuracy in data analysis and reporting
Judgment to balance fraud risk against player experience — knows that over-blocking good players is its own kind of cost
Organized, reliable, curious, and growth-oriented team player
Demonstrated ability with data-driven critical thinking, problem-solving, and recommendations
Where you’ll live:
While we prefer candidates based in Atlanta, we are open to qualified applicants from anywhere in the U.S. and are willing to consider remote candidates. #LI-Remote
