The Benefits Administration and Compliance Analyst supports the administration, compliance, and communication of employee benefit programs. This role is responsible for researching and maintaining state and federal benefits compliance requirements, supporting benefit audits, analyzing enrollment and participation data, assisting with communication campaigns, and providing backup support for benefits administration and leave processes.

Responsibilities:

Research and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations related to employee benefits and leave administration, including:

Pay transparency

State paid family and medical leave

State paid sick leave

State employment changes

Support internal audit activities, including:

Monthly benefits audits

Quarterly funding audits

Annual third-party audits for Health and Welfare, 401(k), and Contractor’s Plan

Compile, analyze, and report benefits data, including:

Enrollment analytics

Open enrollment statistics

Additional ad hoc reporting as needed

Support benefits communication campaigns, including:

Annual preventative campaign

Semi-annual financial campaign

Mental Health Awareness campaign

Virtual Benefits Fair

Open Enrollment campaign

Provide backup support for:

Benefits administration in UKG

FMLA and leave administration

Assist with new hire orientation and onboarding related to benefits

Essential Skills & Experience

3-5+ years’ experience in benefits administration, compliance, HR operations, or related analytical role

Strong understanding of employee benefits, leave administration, and applicable state and federal regulations

Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and prepare reports

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Proficiency with HRIS systems, preferably UKG, preferred

Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion

Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, communications, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience

Compensation: The base pay range for this position is $70,000-$80,000. Our salary ranges are determined by the experience and education required, and level of responsibility. The range posted for this role represents a range that Interstates, in good faith, believes it is willing to pay at the time of this posting. The pay is determined by job related skills, training, education, and experience.

Travel: Able to travel 10% of the time

All employees, even those in traditional office positions may be expected to visit and/or perform work on job sites, requiring flexibility to adapt to diverse environments.

Office work is performed primarily in a modern office setting equipped with collaborative tools and technology. Employees will spend significant time operating personal computer equipment, with extended periods of screen time. Noise levels are generally low to moderate, with occasional interruptions from office activity or equipment. Flexibility in work arrangements may allow occasional remote work, depending on the assignment and business needs. Employees may be required to travel to various locations for meetings or project coordination.

Jobsite work involves exposure to outdoor weather conditions, uneven surfaces, elevated noise levels, and various workplace hazards, including the risk of electrical shock. Adherence to strict safety protocols is essential. Interstates provides all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, gloves, high-visibility gear, safety glasses, and role-specific safety gear.
