Position Overview:

Woolpert is hiring an entry level Construction Manager to join our dynamic Aviation National team in Denver Colorado. This position will report in person to the Denver International Airport (DEN) on a daily basis. The Construction Manager assists in the construction of public and private Infrastructure projects for Aviation. This position will work alongside other Construction Managers, Design Engineers, Project Managers, Practice Leader, and Market directors for civil engineering projects for the Aviation Market.

We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.  Applicants must already possess work authorization in the country the job is located.

What You Will Do:

Increasing responsibilities to perform on-site construction management duties

Good ability at analyzing and problem solving independently

Evaluates, selects and applies standard techniques, procedures and criteria

Applies an increased amount of professional judgment and discretion

Document the on-site construction activities

Must consistently apply Woolpert procedures

Good Ability at performing quality control reviews and assists with quality assurance procedures within areas of expertise

Manage the inspections of construction projects and materials for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and approved construction plans/specifications

Ensuring inspections are completed according to contract protocols.

Reviewing and interpreting construction documents, site drawings, as-built drawings, and specifications

Capable of resolving minor issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.

Communicate with contractors if test failures occur.

Manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity.

Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility.

Produce daily and weekly reports

Perform contract administration tasks

Monitor contractor construction schedules

Review Contractor material submittals

What You Will Bring:

High School Diploma/GED Required

Bachelor of Architecture, Civil Engineering or Construction Management Degree highly desirable

0-3+ years of construction experience

Experience with paving/asphalt, earthwork, stormwater, electrical, and runway/taxi way edge lighting is highly desirable

Proficient in MS Office, Word, Excel.

Ability to deal effectively with people at all levels

Good knowledge of construction management, inspections, methods and materials

Good knowledge of contract administration and pay estimates

Good knowledge of soil analysis, materials, compaction, and density tests

Thorough knowledge of survey, drafting, architecture and engineering

Familiarity with construction observation reporting and procedures.

Good daily report writing and accurate quantity tracking ability.

Good communication skills with clients and staff.

Valid driver’s license. Ability to drive in the non-movement on the airfield.

Ability to obtain Airport Badge

10 Hour OSHA Construction Certificate or ability to obtain.

Ability to visit and safely traverse construction and project sites as well as comply with applicable safety codes and requirements.

Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D a plus.

Travel:

This role currently supports program efforts at Denver International Airport (DEN). The expectation is to work on-site with the DEN team. A company vehicle will be provided.

Resulting Physical Qualifications:

Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.

Must be able to operate and manipulate standard office equipment.

Must be able to occasionally reach, bend, climb and/or balance.

Must be able to frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Pay Range

$87,100—$130,700 USD
