Keep the workplace technology Faire runs on working, every day:

The AV Operations team at Faire owns the technology people rely on to meet, present, and gather. That spans conference rooms and phone booths across our offices, large training rooms and event spaces, digital signage, office background music, and live event production.

As an AV Engineer, you will own day-to-day operations for our standard rooms and workplace media systems. That means preventative maintenance, hands-on break/fix, and the content pipelines behind signage and music. You will be the dedicated operational owner on the team, and you will be hands-on running events with us, from Company All Hands to leadership onsites. You will be based onsite in our San Francisco office, where most of this work happens. You will also support our other offices remotely, with occasional travel.

This role requires full-time presence in our San Francisco office five days per week.

You're excited about this role because…

You want hands-on technical work and clear ownership of the systems you're responsible for.

You measure your work by whether people can walk into a room and get started without thinking about the technology.

You would rather turn a recurring failure into a runbook, a standard, or a training session than fix it repeatedly.

You want to be the person IT Ops and end users come to for AV, knowing they’ll receive excellent support.

You want exposure to complex AV work (Q-SYS, Dante, RF, large-format systems) by collaborating with senior AV engineers, with room to grow toward it.

What you'll do:

Own preventative maintenance across our standard conference rooms and phone booths, covering displays, all-in-one video bars, controllers, schedulers, table mics, and in-room cabling.

Perform daily room sweeps in our SF office and receive daily room sweep reports from IT Ops across other offices, triaging findings into a same-day fix, scheduled remediation, or a strategic project.

Serve as the hands-on responder for AV tickets in standard rooms against defined response and resolution targets, diagnosing and repairing hardware, cabling, mounts, controllers, schedulers, and provisioning issues.

Provide remote resolution where possible through tools like Zoom Admin Portal and Logitech Sync for actions such as restarts, re-provisioning, and room setting updates.

Keep managed AV devices current within the update timelines set by IT Security, covering schedulers and iPads, Mac Mini codecs, and Logitech CollabOS devices. You will plan update waves, track compliance across the fleet, and flag devices that can't be updated.

Inspect displays for burn-in and image retention, enforce background rotation standards, and validate that display power schedules are applied and behaving.

Own the digital signage content pipeline across offices, from intake and scheduling through publishing and expiration, and maintain templates so content ships at spec.

Own day-to-day administration of office background music, including account approval, endpoint troubleshooting, zone volume, and scheduled on and off by office. You will enable our Workplace partners to manage their own playlists and zones.

Maintain common-area displays and shared AV in lounges, cafés, gaming areas, and open spaces, and keep a documented spares inventory with reorder thresholds.

Keep room records, as-built notes, SOPs, and runbooks current, and write repeatable procedures for IT Ops so first-line fixes don't have to reach you.

Train and enable end users in our complex rooms and event spaces, covering source and display selection, Zoom Rooms controllers, UCI panel basics, wireless mic handling, and podium inputs. You are first-line guidance for teams self-running smaller live events.

Surface patterns from daily sweeps, including repeat failures and rooms trending toward end of life, and feed that data into lifecycle and refresh planning.

Support live events across our offices, from smaller-tier events teams self-run to full productions, covering setup, sound checks, mic handling, and day-of support.

Partner with our senior AV engineers on DSP, Q-SYS, Dante, RF, and complex-room work, bringing them a documented diagnosis and staying on the problem with them through the fix.

We're excited about you because you have:

2 to 4 years supporting AV, IT, or workplace technology.

Hands-on experience with video conferencing room systems. Zoom Rooms strongly preferred, along with Logitech (Rally family, Tap, Sync) or equivalent.

Comfort with displays, mounts, cabling, and HDMI and USB signal flow, backed by a real troubleshooting methodology rather than trial and error.

Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including IP, VLANs, PoE, and DHCP, and how AV devices depend on them.

Ticket-driven support experience with clear written documentation habits.

A service orientation that holds up under pressure. This role is visible to employees and leadership in live meeting spaces.

The physical ability to work on ladders, lift equipment, and access ceilings and racks.

You'll stand out if you have:

Digital signage platform experience.

Familiarity with commercial audio, including passive speaker systems, amplifiers, and DSP concepts at the operational level.

Exposure to Q-SYS, Shure, or Dante environments.

MDM familiarity for Apple devices.

A live event or production support background.

Salary range:

San Francisco: the pay range for this role is $144,000 to $198,000 per year.

This role will also be eligible for equity and benefits. Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands, and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
