Associate Director, AI & Transformation

Position Overview

This is a delivery-focused leadership role dedicated to a big ecommerce account, owning the planning and hands-on implementation of AI-driven asset production solutions. Where the AI & Transformation Associate Director sets overall strategy and holds final sign-off, this role takes day-to-day ownership of the client relationship and the execution of solutions on the ground.

The Associate Director plans AI integration roadmaps, advises the account on the roles and technology needed to deliver, manages concurrent technology and production streams, and leads a small team of creative-technical specialists. It suits someone who has come up through creative asset production, has spent the last few years deep in agentic and AI-driven production, and can independently turn business objectives into working solutions.

Key Responsibilities

AI Integration Roadmaps for Asset Production

Plan and evolve AI integration roadmaps for asset production solutions across static creative, video, 3D / CGI, product imagery, and large-scale campaign localization.

Translate Mercado Libre's business objectives and account priorities into phased, actionable implementation plans.

Identify where generative AI can meaningfully drive speed, cost reduction, and production volume across the pipeline.

Solution Design & Advisory

Advise account leads, AI consultants, and stakeholders on the roles, team composition, and technology required for new and current business.

Partner cross-functionally to scope and map out what each solution looks like — from concept, through technical feasibility, to delivery.

Contribute to pitches, proposals, and technical solution development as new opportunities emerge.

Day-to-Day Delivery & Production Management

Manage day-to-day execution across multiple technology and production streams where solutions are being developed.

Own timelines, prioritization, and problem-solving across concurrent workstreams, keeping delivery on track.

Drive solutions reliably from prototype to production, resolving technical and creative blockers as they arise.

Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and develop a small, cross-functional team of Creative Technologists, AI Artists, and Tech Leads.

Direct daily work, unblock the team, and grow both technical and creative capability.

Foster a culture of ownership, experimentation, and high-quality output.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with account leads, AI consultants, and global / LATAM teams to align on solution design and delivery.

Act as the primary day-to-day point of contact for the client team on AI production solutions, delegated from the Sr Director.

Keep the Sr Director informed on progress, risks, and decisions requiring strategic input or final sign-off.

What We're Looking For

A career grounded in creative asset production, with genuine, hands-on knowledge of how production works.

2–3+ years deeply involved in agentic and AI-driven production.

Technical fluency in how the tools are actually used in production — LLMs, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ComfyUI, Runway, and the current landscape of AI image and video models.

A proven ability to sit down and independently develop plans and solutions — high ownership and proactivity are essential.

Experience leading small technical and/or creative teams.

Business-fluent Spanish and English.
