The Opportunity
We're looking for an Associate Counsel to join our growing Legal team and help support the business behind some of the nation's most complex industrial electrical, technology, and manufacturing projects.
Reporting to the General Counsel, you'll work alongside leaders across Sales, Operations, Project Management, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Finance, IT, Safety, and Executive Leadership to provide practical legal guidance that enables smart business decisions while managing risk.
Whether you're an early-career attorney or a recent law school graduate looking to build an in-house legal career, this role offers broad exposure to commercial contracts, corporate matters, compliance, employment, intellectual property, construction, and strategic business initiatives—all while working directly with experienced legal leadership.
What You'll Do
Provide practical legal guidance to business leaders and internal stakeholders on a variety of day-to-day legal matters.
Draft, review, negotiate, and revise commercial agreements, including customer contracts, vendor agreements, subcontracts, software and technology agreements, NDAs, and other business contracts.
Identify legal and business risks within agreements and recommend practical solutions that align with company objectives.
Support contract negotiations and help develop contract templates, playbooks, standard positions, and review procedures.
Conduct legal research and prepare written analyses, recommendations, and guidance for business and legal leadership.
Assist with legal matters involving corporate governance, compliance, employment, intellectual property, litigation, claims, insurance, real estate, and strategic business initiatives.
Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting the business and assist with implementation of legal requirements.
Develop legal resources, policies, training materials, and internal documentation that improve consistency and efficiency.
What You Bring
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction or eligible to obtain admission in the applicable jurisdiction.
0–3 years of legal experience preferred. Recent law school graduates are encouraged to apply.
Experience reviewing, drafting, or negotiating commercial contracts through a law firm, judicial clerkship, internship, legal clinic, or in-house legal department is preferred.
Coursework or experience in corporate, commercial, construction, employment, or intellectual property law is a plus.
Strong legal research, writing, analytical, negotiation, and organizational skills.
Strong judgment, attention to detail, integrity, and commitment to confidentiality.

Location & Travel: This position may be based in our Sioux Center, IA; Sioux Falls, SD; or Omaha, NE office locations. Travel is minimal and will primarily consist of occasional meetings, office visits, or project-related activities as business needs require.
