Associate Accounts Executive [1 Year Contract]
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Associate Accounts Executive (1 year contract) to join our Finance team in the technology sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely month-end closing, and compliance with local statutory requirements. This role requires strong hands-on experience in partial sets in accounting focusing on general ledger management, account reconciliations, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and supporting a growing business.
This is a one-year contract position.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily accounting operations, including bookkeeping and general ledger activities.
Monitor bank balances and coordinate funding requests to support business operations.
Prepare and post accounting entries, including accruals, reclassifications, and adjustments where required.
Perform month-end closing activities, including preparation of account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
Review Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss accounts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper expense classification.
Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with applicable Financial Reporting Standards (FRS) and company policies.
Support external audit processes by liaising with auditors, responding to queries, and preparing relevant supporting documents during audit fieldwork.
Work closely with senior finance manager and tax agents on corporate tax matters and withholding tax requirements.
Support corporate secretarial matters by preparing and coordinating documents through DocuSign.
Liaise with bankers to ensure bank account information and authorised signatories remain updated.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the US Finance team, with occasional night meetings required to support cross-time-zone communication.
Perform other ad hoc accounting-related duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline
2 to 3 years of relevant accounting experience, with hands-on experience in partial sets in accounting focusing on general ledger functions.
Strong understanding of basic FRS requirements, corporate taxation, and local statutory compliance.
Good knowledge of month-end closing processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Strong attention to detail with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Good communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
Experience with accounting systems such as NetSuite or ZIP is advantageous.
Prior experience working with external auditors, tax agents, corporate secretaries, and banking partners is preferred.
Experience in a technology or fast-growing business environment will be an advantage.
