Applied AI Architect, Beneficial Deployments (Global & Public Health)
About Beneficial Deployments
Beneficial Deployments ensures AI reaches and benefits the communities that need it most. We partner with nonprofits, foundations, and mission-driven organizations to deploy Claude in education, global health, economic mobility, and life sciences — focusing on raising the floor for those who need it most.
About the Role
We're looking for an Applied AI Architect to join Beneficial Deployments, focused on helping public health, global health and humanitarian organizations get real value from Claude. You'll be the technical lead for partners such as public health agencies and ministries of health, the institutes and NGOs that support them, and humanitarian organizations working in crisis settings. You'll help them find where Claude makes a real difference, from disease surveillance and outbreak response to health data, communications and program delivery, design solutions that fit their data, privacy and procurement rules, and turn early pilots into lasting deployments. What works for one partner becomes something the whole field can use.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary technical advisor to a portfolio of health partners from discovery through deployment, turning their priorities into scoped use cases with clear measures of success.
Design and demo solutions with Claude, the API, Claude Science and Claude Code across surveillance, outbreak response, data analysis and public communications.
Guide partners through security review, data governance and procurement, from national agencies to field operations.
Run workshops, trainings and tabletop exercises that build AI fluency across partner teams.
Build reusable assets (reference designs, connectors, prompt and eval templates) so one partner's work helps the next.
Spot patterns across partners, bring field insight back to Product and Research, and help partners measure what changed.
Travel to partner sites for workshops, technical deep dives and relationship building.
You Might Be a Good Fit If You Have
3+ years in customer-facing technical roles such as solutions architecture, sales engineering, forward-deployed engineering or technical consulting.
Experience working with public health agencies, ministries of health, global health or humanitarian organizations, or similarly complex public institutions, including how they buy, adopt, and govern technology.
A track record of making technology stick inside slow-moving organizations with many stakeholders.
Hands-on experience building with LLM APIs: you can prototype a working demo. You don't need to write production code.
Clear written and spoken communication across a broad audience. The ability to explain technical tradeoffs to epidemiologists, program leads, field teams and executives.
Patience with long buying cycles, a knack for knowing how to make them go smoothly, and real care for public benefit.
Comfort operating in ambiguity: you bring clarity to fuzzy problems, wear multiple hats and do whatever it takes to further the mission.
Bonus if you've worked on disease surveillance, outbreak response, health information systems or emergency operations.
