Details about this opportunity:
Location: Nassau, NY (school based)
Hours: Hours vary based on school district (Ex: Mon - Fri 8am - 3pm) Daytime hours 25-32 hours per week
Schedule: Follows the school district calendar, including holidays and breaks
Compensation: $22-$28/hourly

Responsibilities:
Respond to the goals, needs and requests of students and supervisors, on an individualized basis, and in a professional manner.
Work closely with school personnel (e.g. classroom/ special teachers, TAs, school psychologist, social worker, behavior consultant, related service provider) to ensure the student’s success in the classroom.
Work collaboratively with a behavior consultant and/or clinical supervisor to provide academic, behavioral, and social/emotional support to student with special needs
Assist with classroom assignments under the direction of the classroom teacher.
Implementation of behavior support plans or skill acquisition programs (data collection, progress reporting, CPI training and implementation)
Help with daily living tasks, such as mobility, hygiene, and transitions.
Escort the student to different locations (bathroom, cafeteria, therapy sessions).
Maintain the confidentiality of information regarding students in accordance with State and Federal regulations
Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Understand and demonstrate the company core values.

And this background:
Minimum of 6 months working with children or adolescents with special needs in a supervised setting
Minimum of High School Diploma required
Must have reliable transportation
Successful completion of or current enrollment in an undergraduate program in psychology, healthcare, human services, education or related field preferred
Experience with students with autism and/or maladaptive behaviors preferred
Critical thinker with a problem-solving mind
Bilingual is a plus
