Staff Software Engineer (Go, Rust) - AI Data Pipelines
As a Staff Software Engineer at our AI Data Pipelines team, built on our acquisiton of Observo AI, you will be tasked with helping build our next big innovation: an AI-powered integration factory that makes connecting new data sources dramatically faster, with quality proven through automated validation. Operating as part of the AI SIEM engineering organization, you will architect and scale backend infrastructure, APIs, and cloud-native microservices designed to process petabyte-scale security and observability data. You will collaborate across global teams to shape our AI-driven data pipeline platform from the ground up - this is your opportunity to build products from 0 → 1.
What Will You Do?
Primary responsibilities include:
Architect and scale the next-generation backend infrastructure and APIs for our AI-driven integration platform, engineered to process petabyte-scale security and observability data with ultra-low latency.
Pioneer the development of an AI-powered automation engine that leverages LLMs and agentic workflows to autonomously generate, test, and validate data integrations end-to-end.
Design and build cloud-native microservices (using primarily Golang and occassionally Rust and/or Java, especially when interacting with such pieces of our codebase or with neighbouring teams) and frameworks that seamlessly connect our platform to third-party APIs and major observability platforms like Splunk, Datadog, and New Relic.
Lead the adoption and implementation of open data schemas (such as OCSF) to normalize massive, highly diverse multi-format datasets.
Optimize system performance, cost efficiency, and reliability through continuous profiling, testing, and infrastructure improvements.
Partner closely with core platform, Product, and global field teams to translate complex customer requirements into technical solutions and integrate automated workflows.
Raise the engineering bar through active technical design leadership, comprehensive code reviews, testing best practices, and developer mentoring.
What Skills and Knowledge Will You Bring?
Ideal candidates will have:
Multiple years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated growth and depth in distributed systems, data engineering, or backend infrastructure.
Strong proficiency in Go, alongside a solid understanding of system design patterns and software architecture principles. Knowledge/experience in Rust and/or Java would be a plus.
Hands-on experience building production software with LLMs or AI agents, with a strong engineering focus on evaluation, testing, and guardrails.
Extensive experience building data-intensive systems (ingestion, transformation, normalization, validation) and integrating complex third-party APIs.
Solid hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), and GitOps-driven CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Helm, ArgoCD).
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience), with professional-level English fluency.
Why SentinelOne?
AI is redefining how the world operates and rewriting the rules of security in real time, and SentinelOne was built for this moment. From day one, we architected an AI-native platform designed to operate at machine speed, not as an add-on to legacy systems but as the foundation itself. If you want to build where innovation and impact move together, this is that place.
