Senior Software Engineer, Platform (Dublin or Madrid)

We're looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team. You'll play a key role in designing and building scalable, event-driven backend systems on AWS while influencing architecture and engineering best practices across the platform.

Key responsibilities & duties include:

Design and build scalable Python microservices on AWS.

Develop event-driven architectures using EventBridge, SQS and SNS.

Design APIs, data models and cloud infrastructure.

Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK or Terraform.

Improve system performance, scalability, observability and cost efficiency.

Collaborate with engineers across the business and mentor junior team members.

Required Experience:

5+ years' experience developing backend applications.

Strong AWS experience, including Lambda and serverless architectures.

Excellent Python development skills.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK or Terraform).

Knowledge of event-driven architectures and microservices.

Experience with DynamoDB, PostgreSQL and Redis.

Strong understanding of distributed systems and software architecture.

Experience with CI/CD and cloud observability tools such as Datadog is desirable.

Excellent communication skills and fluent English.

Nice to have:

Multi-tenant SaaS experience.

AI/LLM integration experience.

IoT or connected device experience.
