Senior ServiceNow Engineer
Overview:
The Senior ServiceNow Developer serves as a dedicated platform developer within Inovalon’s Corporate IT Services organization, operating under a federated services model that supports enterprise administrators embedded across business units. This role is the primary driver of custom development, solution design, and architectural decision-making for ServiceNow integrations across the enterprise. The position supports a client-facing function with growing demand, an active backlog, and expanding pipeline, making platform expertise and delivery velocity critical to team success.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, architect, and implement custom ServiceNow solutions including application modules, workflows, catalog requests, and integrations, with a focus on scalable, enterprise-grade delivery;
Own the end-to-end feature release process, ensuring operational excellence through monitoring, telemetry, documentation, and retrospective and root cause analysis processes;
Develop and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and third-party systems using APIs, REST and SOAP web services, LDAP, SSO, Mid Server, and email-based workflows;
Customize the ServiceNow platform including screen tailoring, workflow administration, report setup, data imports, and custom scripting;
Maintain Service Catalog Items and Knowledge Bases to ensure accuracy and usability across the enterprise;
Balance short and long-term technical needs, producing secure, efficient, and maintainable code that adheres to industry standards;
Drive adoption of engineering best practices and effectively coordinate parallel work streams within and across teams;
Provide technical leadership and mentorship, fostering a culture of platform excellence within the ServiceNow ecosystem;
Collaborate with IT Service Management, business unit stakeholders, and corporate leadership to translate business requirements into platform solutions;
Identify and implement platform improvements proactively, applying strategic thinking to ensure solutions scale with organizational growth;
Perform technical configurations, maintenance, and housekeeping tasks to ensure platform health and data integrity;
Adhere to all confidentiality, HIPAA, regulatory, and other such policies, procedures, and requirements as outlined within Employer’s Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the scope of work;
Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies, procedures and mission statement, and fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success.
Job Requirements:
Minimum 6 years of ServiceNow development experience in enterprise environments;
5 or more years of experience with relational databases, including development and performance optimization;
Deep proficiency in ServiceNow platform customization, administration, and configuration including Service Catalog and Service Portal;
Strong command of HTML, Angular, JavaScript, SQL, AJAX, JSON, XML, CSS, and REST and SOAP APIs;
Proven track record designing and delivering integrations between ServiceNow and external applications;
Hands-on experience with recent ServiceNow releases including Yokohama and Australia;
Experience with code versioning tools such as Git, Serena, or SVN;
Familiarity with Agile methodology; ability to manage sprints and stories in hybrid environments;
Ability to translate high-level specifications into resource and technical requirements;
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical designs and decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Base Compensation Range
$105,000—$130,000 USD
