Senior Compliance Monitoring and Testing Officer
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Senior Compliance Monitoring and Testing Officer, which will be an integral part of our Compliance department. Our team is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance and ethical conduct across all aspects of our business operations.
In this senior role, you will assist with the design, implementation and oversight of Bitvavo's risk based compliance monitoring and testing (CMT) programe, based on EU regulatory requirements. You will be part of a team responsible for the daily monitoring and execution of the CMT programme in addition to drafting, reviewing and/or implementing supporting policies, procedures and processes within Bitvavo. You will provide guidance and coaching to other compliance officers in the team.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Compliance monitoring and testing program design: assist the Compliance Manager to design and implement improvements in the CMT program. This includes managing to identify and clearly communicate the objectives of the CMT program, its scope and breadth of activities covered, and the local risks, laws, regulations and commitments which the CMT program will seek to address.
- Compliance monitoring and testing program methodology: assist in the design (or update of the existing) compliance risk assessment processes to identify key risks and activities. For each element of the program, assess and identify a suitable monitoring or testing approach, tool and methodology. Implement an operating model through which the program will be executed in BAU.
- Compliance monitoring and testing program implementation: lead and take ownership of the execution and implementation of the annual CMT plan. Review associated policy and procedures as part of the compliance review plan. Suggest and implement any improved controls, tooling or systems required to execute the plan.
- Policy Governance and Compliance Reporting: periodic review of policies based on the Policies management framework and policies review plan across Bitvavo. Writing compliance reports, communicating the findings to stakeholders and assisting in the implementation of the findings. Assist in the implementation of a clear and concise reporting methodology and framework enabling quick and efficient escalation of issues identified and followed up consistently.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
- University degree in Law or a similar relevant study
- 5 years of experience in a Compliance or Risk-related business function. Experience in a Regulated Exchange, MTF, or CASP is a plus
- 3 -5 years of experience with compliance testing, monitoring, and audit programmes
- Comprehensive knowledge of financial services regulations (i.e. MiFID II or MiCAR, or Electronic Money or Payment directives)
- Clear and concise communicator, both written and verbal. This should include excellent report writing and policy drafting capabilities
- Skilled at executing multi functional and cross organisational assignments within Bitvavo Group that require in depth compliance knowledge
