About the role
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to build a strong foundation in project management within a fast-paced engineering environment.
Working within our Project Management Office (PMO), you'll play a key role in ensuring project information remains organised, accurate and accessible. By keeping projects running smoothly behind the scenes, you'll enable engineers, scientists and project leaders to focus on delivery.
You'll gain exposure to the full project lifecycle while developing valuable skills in project coordination, stakeholder management, reporting and business operations.
What you'll be doing
Keep projects organised
Maintain documentation and folder structures across 50+ active projects
Ensure project information is accurate, accessible and audit-ready
Establish administrative frameworks for new projects
Turn data into insight
Build and maintain project reports and dashboards using Excel
Analyse project performance data and track key metrics
Produce clear, professional reports and presentations for stakeholders
Support project delivery
Monitor milestones and project deadlines
Proactively follow up with team members to keep activities on track
Track smaller work packages using established tools and templates
Work across the business
Support Project Leads with reporting and presentation materials
Act as a central point of contact for project information
Help ensure documentation and communication flow effectively across teams
What we're looking for
Essential
A degree, apprenticeship or equivalent experience in Engineering, Science, Business, Project Management or a related discipline
Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and data analysis
Strong organisational and administrative capability
Excellent attention to detail
Clear written and verbal communication skills
A proactive, self-starting approach to work
Confidence working with multiple priorities in a busy environment
Experience using document management systems such as SharePoint or Confluence
An understanding of how projects move from initiation through to completion
Strong listening skills and the ability to quickly understand requirements
Nice to have
Experience creating management or executive-level presentations
Knowledge of Excel Macros, Power Query or data visualisation tools
Experience using MS Project, Jira or similar project management software
Previous project coordination or project administration experience
